    Regulatory & Governmental Affairs Specialist

    Description This position supports the Regulatory, Policy & Compliance Manager to effectively address all regulatory matters and to execute the strategy to ensure organizational compliance with applicable industry regulations. The role further supports to ensure business-wide awareness of, and adherence to all regulatory obligations, directives, and mandates – anticipating new or changing regulations. The Regulatory & Governmental Affairs Specialist is responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders to develop strategies to address changes in policy/regulations that may adversely affect business operations. The role will support to build strong relationships with key ministries, regulators and government agencies and leverage these relationships to ensure that Vodafone Ghana’s commercial, operational and societal interests are front and centre of policy discussions.

    Job Responsibility Key Responsibilities 

    •  Review all regulatory agency submission materials to ensure timeliness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, or compliance with regulatory standards 
    •  Maintain current knowledge of relevant regulations, including proposed and final rules 
    •  Provide responses to regulatory agencies regarding product information or issues 
    •  Communicate regulatory information to multiple departments and ensure that information is interpreted correctly 
    •  Provide regulatory guidance to departments or development project teams regarding design, development, evaluation, or marketing of products 
    •  Support the manager to represent Vodafone Ghana before domestic or international regulatory agencies on major policy matters or decisions regarding the industry 
    •  Support the manager to develop a stakeholder map and execute a stakeholder engagement plan 
    •  Monitor emerging trends regarding industry regulations to determine potential impacts on organizational processes 
    •  Ensure completion of all compulsory internal and external reporting requirements 
    •  Train staff in regulatory policies or procedures

    Required Technical/Professional Qualifications:

    •  Relevant degree BSc/BA/MBA/MSc and/or professional qualification in law (LLB/LLM), political science, public relations, public administration, which covers related compliance processes and reporting
    •  Demonstrated leadership skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven problem-solving ability 
    •  Team-building and effective communications skills are critical requirements, as is the ability to make decisions in a dynamic environment. Well-developed and demonstrated facilitation, persuasion, presentation, and project management skills 
    •  Ability to effectively collaborate with others and accept challenging assignments. Ability to drive compliance both “holistically and horizontally” across the enterprise
