    Senior Manager Regional Compliance

    About The Job

    Reports to Director Compliance, Region Middle East
    Overall Job Purpose:

    • Implement the company wide compliance program for Region Middle East, supporting the business units in alignment with the common compliance priorities and standards for the region
    • Provide guidance to ensure that the business units, implement the elements of the company required compliance policies, taking into account local regulations
    • Evaluate the efficiency of compliance controls and improve them when required
    • Monitoring regulatory developments in conjunction with the region
    • Ensure all employees are trained (F2F) on HL compliance requirements

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Transform the group compliance commitment into a clear roadmap for the individual area offices within the region
    • Compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies for Africa
    • Adherence to competition law and awareness within the organisation for Region Middle East
    • Anti-corruption and supporting the organisation to ensure zero tolerance on corruption
    • Face to face training and awareness on Compliance Matters within the organisation
    • Management of Compliance officers in the areas and supporting organisation principals on compliance
    • Support the chief compliance officer in compliance monitoring and surveillance processes when required
    • Coordinate with local and global Compliance and other stakeholders on customer KYC issues as required
    • Selection of dawn raid and whistleblower law firms and being a focal point of contact to the ethics committee on Region Middle East Compliance reports
    • Support ongoing investigations if any, where required

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Administration, or Legal and Administration
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage
    • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a similar role and shipping knowledge
    • Fluent in English and French
    • Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements
    • Knowledge of sanctions and embargo changes and impact to HL
    • Pronounced risk management capabilities and AML analytical skills
    • Strong writing skills, capability to document relevant information in a clear, structured and comprehensive way
