    Unit Manager - Project Management

    Job Description

    • Prepare accurate periodic project cost reports, variance analysis and progress report on the Damang re-investment project
    • Assist with the preparation of mining project budgets & forecast
    • Manage the approved capital expenditure for the project to avoid over expenditure
    • Ensure the proper accounting for the Mining Contractor and other project costs in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts
    • Establish and maintain good communication channels with all stakeholders of the Re-investment project
    • Monitor relevant mining contract cost drivers and  financial ratios in accordance with the contract.
    • Ensuring the strict application of the internal control and process in relation to the re-investment project
    • Ensure optimum confidentiality of information at all times
    • Train, develop, coach, and mentor subordinates to deliver superior performance to the business.

    Requirement/Skills

    • BSc Accounting or BCom qualification from a recognized tertiary institution
    • A member in good standing of a relevant professional body (i.e. ACCA, ICA, CIMA and/or CPA)
    • At least six (6) years’ experience in a similar capacity within a mining or extractive industry.
    • Excellent understanding and interpretation of relevant Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards.
    • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as an ability to interact with people of diverse cultures and levels
    • Sound verbal and written communication skills with a consultative approach to delivering results.
    • Computer literacy with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and standard accounting software packages.
    • Medical fitness for the position and environment
    • Must possess a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and ability to drive light duty vehicles.
