    Commodities Broker

    About the Role

    • The candidate is to focus on investing in sort after agricultural products such as cashew, pear, cannabis and others.
    •  He/She would be involved in a day-to-day buying and selling of these products on behalf of his clients often driven by expected economic trends or arbitrage opportunities in the commodities markets.
    • In addition, he/she would monitor market trends and factors that affect supply, including weather conditions and foreign exchange rates since the contracts you execute influence their employer's inventory and profitability.

    Job Description

    • Agreeing on buying or selling prices at optimal levels for clients.
    • Make bids or offers to buy or sell commodities.
    • Aggregate the purchase and sale of commodities between a buyer and a seller.
    • Secure a list of well-equipped buyers and sellers both local and international for the smooth brokering of commodities.
    • Develop or maintain supplier or customer relationships.
    • Devise trading, option, or hedge strategies.
    • Identify opportunities or develop channels for purchase or sale of securities or commodities.
    • Provide adequate pricing structure indicating profit margins of trades to be executed.
    • Responsible for researching on a commodity with regards to price volatility, trade policies, environmental factors, government measures, agribusiness, political developments or supply and demand changes.
    • Inform other traders, managers, or customers of market conditions, including volume, price, competition, or dynamics.
    • Process paperwork for special orders, including margin or option purchases.
    • Receive sales order tickets and inspect forms to determine accuracy of information.
    • Review transactions to ensure conformance to regulations.
    • Write or sign sales order confirmation forms to record or approve security transactions.
    • Make transportation arrangements for sold or purchased commodities.
    • Reconcile account-related statements, such as quarterly or annual statements or confirmations.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • Demonstrated ability in securing major deals from individuals, corporations, foundations and other sources.
    • Good with numbers
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information and prepare effective, accurate and timely reports and other documents to support development objectives.
    • Database management skills.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule work assignments.
    • Ability to be adept in negotiating business deals and making sound decisions that benefit the company
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community.
    • Meeting monthly assigned target by Management.

    Requirements

    Educational Background

    • Minimum First Degree in Agribusiness, Marketing, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Accounting or Economics
    • An MBA or MSC in the fields above would be an added advantage                  
    • Work Experience: 2 years Minimum in working with an excellent Commodities Trading Institution as a Commodities Trader/Broker.

    HR Officer

    Job Purpose:

    • We are looking for an exceptional HR Officer who is able to hit the ground running and provide platinum support to HR Management.
    • The role will be extremely varied and will require someone who is enthusiastic and resilient. This involves being assertive yet agile in how you solve problems.

    Job Description

    • Acting as the first point of contact for all HR matters and managing the HR mailbox and escalating to the relevant person
    • Coordinating the on-boarding activities including, sending contract, references request and sending all relevant documents
    • Orchestrating the induction process for new joiners on a regular basis for all new starters
    • Updating BambooHR with new starters, changes and leavers
    • Management of improving and enhancing the Probation process. Providing coaching for managers and employees alike for the entire probation process
    • Supporting with note taking in employee relation matters including investigations, disciplinary, grievance and performance management
    • Advising managers on low level employee relation cases such as absence and lateness
    • Maintaining a case management of all trackers of all employee relations matters
    • Facilitating Employee Relation workshops alongside the HR Manager
    • Assisting with updating and enhancing all policies and procedures in alignment to the relevant employment legislation
    • Supporting on the Annual Performance Review Process in terms of communication and providing managers with support
    • Assisting the HR manager with any in-house trainings where necessary
    • Working with external training providers where necessary to support with any skills gaps or development for the workforce
    • Supporting with recruitment for new hires including requisition approval, advertising, screening, interviews, assessment centres and offer management
    • Ownership of benefits administration end-to-end ensuring timely and accurate processing
    • Assisting the HR manager with payroll collation on a monthly basis
    • Supporting with overall company org chart and departmental org charts
    • Conducting Exit Interviews and track the feedback making recommendations to HRD/HRM as necessary
    • Keeping the intranet up to date and engaging
    • Assisting with HR projects including culture and well-being initiatives

     
    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

    • A degree holder in Psychology, Human Resources or Business Studies
    • Minimum 2 years work experience within HR
    • Experience preferably within complex financial services or similar organization
    • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
    • Data-driven with an ability to translate analytics into insights and actions
    • Naturally proactive when it comes to looking ahead, pre-empting and resolving issues. Exceptional organizational, planning, prioritization skills and the ability to work under pressure.
    • Excellent IT Skills i.e. advanced Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel skills as well
    • Adheres to confidentiality
