    Data Processing Team (GIS Technician)

    About You and The Role  

    • Do you get excited about working with data that will be used to ensure that our operations are safe and efficient? The Data Processing Team focuses on translating data points into a form that can be used by other teams to improve safety and efficiency.
    • Engineers at Zipline then use this data to plan flight paths that are safe and efficient.
    • If you enjoy working with large volumes of data and you enjoy performing duties that need attention to details then this position is for you.

    What You'll Do  
    In your first month, you will:

    • Be responsible for photogrammetric processing of UAV imagery and Satellite data to generate photogrammetry outputs, including a DSM, orthomosaic, and point clouds
    • Train on how to perform quality control of photogrammetric outputs
    • Construct flight routes that successfully navigate around any identified hazards
    • Perform quality control on geospatial datasets to ensure data meets accuracy requirements
    • Prepare and ingest UAV datasets into Zipline’s flight planning system

    Within 3 months you will:

    • Bring on new delivery sites by using in-house tooling to develop flight routes to new sites.
    • Track production progress across multiple Zipline Distribution Centers.
    • Continuously identify and implement ways to expand, improve, and streamline the tooling and systems used to bring on new delivery sites.

    By 6 months, you will:

    • Track productivity and measure the output of the team against ambitious goals.

    What You'll Bring 
    You will be required to have experience in some of these areas:

    • Experience working with Digital Elevation Models, Orthophotography and Lidar Point Clouds
    • Good understanding of projections/datum
    • Experience with UAV datasets
    • Experience with remote sensing: able to identify and extract features from raster imagery using a combination of manual and automated means
    • Strong working knowledge of GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, and GDAL
    • Strong computer literacy: comfortable using command-line tools, able to install the software.
    • Excellent data management skills: act as a data steward for a variety of spatial datasets that are used across multiple groups within the company.
    • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams and data analysis requests.
    • Able to be prolific, efficient, and fast in order to meet demanding timelines and last-minute needs
    • Strong attention to detail and an ability to get stuff done, no matter what the hurdles are
    • Remote sensing background
    • Experience processing UAV collected imagery into Digital Surface Models and Orthomosaics
    • Comfortable using BASH terminals
    • Familiarity with git
    • Python experience will be a plus

    Accounting Manager

    ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE

    • The Accounting Manager will be responsible for  end-to-end accounting and finance responsibilities in the country as well as ensuring superb finance business partnering with all other units of the organization to actualize monthly, quarterly and annual company goals.

    What you’ll do

    • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the country’s accounting department including; month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, banking relationships and fixed asset activity.
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
    • Good knowledge and understanding of finance best practices, IFRS and other applicable accounting standards.
    • Ensure proper financial control and compliance.
    • Coordinate and complete annual audit.
    • Provide initiatives and recommendations on cost reduction.
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective action.
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions.
    • Tax Management and Tax Returns Filing.
    • Coordination of banking activities and transactions.
    • Work cooperatively with all the units to meet operational and team objectives.

    What you’ll bring

    • A first degree or equivalent preferably in Accounting or Finance or Business-related discipline.
    • Recognized professional accounting certification.
    • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience.
    • Preferably bilingual in English and French

    Electrical Technician Instructor

    About You and The Role  

    • Zipline is building a global network of Distribution Centers from which our battery-powered autonomous aircraft deliver lifesaving medical supplies to patients in some of the most difficult to reach places on Earth.
    • As we build new Distribution Centers, we must also build strong teams of flight operators and arm them with the knowledge and skills to keep those high-tech systems operational in harsh, remote environments. 
    • As an Electrical Training Instructor (ETI), you will be responsible for conducting and updating our training program for all of the Nest Electrical Technicians. As an ETI you will deliver the training and ensure the transfer of skills needed to perform the installation and maintenance on our systems will be done safely and to our high Zipline standards.
    • Through this process you will work closely with engineers, manufacturing technicians, and flight operators to gain a deep technical understanding of Zipline’s technology, the current procedures, as well as the pain points and gaps.
    • You’ll then need to draw on industry best practices and come up with creative new solutions that fit Zipline’s unique needs but allow our team to remain safe and operating at peak efficiency.
    •  You must be resourceful and scrappy when needed, but always maintain an exceptional standard of safety, care and professionalism in the training you deliver.

    • Please note that we are open to this person being based in any country we have operations in Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Côte d'Ivoire).

    What You'll Do  

    • Become an expert on key systems, techniques, and processes, such as: equipment and systems at a Zipline Distribution Center, existing installation processes, and troubleshooting/maintenance best practices
    • Build and continuously update training curriculum to reflect Zipline’s latest Electrical systems and operating procedures 
    • Support the Academy team to build new training curriculum & conduct trainings across a variety of technical fields
    • Train and certify Nest Electrical Technicians (NET) on the correct installation and maintenance of Zipline equipment 
    • Ensure every NET can independently troubleshoot any equipment issues quickly and safely
    • Support the team to launch a new Distribution Center, specifically focused on the electrical installation of technical equipment 
    • Support the team in responding to and/or fixing any technical issue that arises at a Distribution Center

    What You'll Bring 

    • 5-10 years of experience in the electrical field 
    • Certification from a recognized organization is preferred but not required
    • Ability to conduct engaging classroom and hands-on technical training sessions
    • Demonstrated ability to build and implement technical training curriculum
    • Capable of performing installation, maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial electrical equipment in a safe, detailed and professional manner
    • Adept at communicating and working with non-native English speakers
    • Able to travel 50% of the time
