    Finance Manager

    Main Purpose:

    • A position based in Ghana for and experienced, ambitious and talented financial professional with a minimum of 5-8 years relevant experience in financial management. The individual should be highly skilled in all forms of communication – both with internal stakeholders as well as diverse cultures. Strong attention to detail is critical.
    • The successful candidate should have the ability to handle a highly charged and dynamic workload from the start. He/she must be able to work autonomously on several projects at any given time and to communicate efficiently with colleagues located across the world. The role also includes responsibility for assisting country management with business planning, budgeting and strategy for a high growth and dynamic country organization.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
    Key Responsibilities

    • Management of in-country finance function including financial accounting, controlling, management reporting, budget planning, tax, credit control, and financing. Ensuring compliance with financial accounting, company and Statutory Requirements, accounting standards and policies
    • Ensuring Group Accounts and performance reporting deadlines and requirements are met. Providing financial and non-financial reporting and review to the business, highlight variance on financial performance. working with GM on addressing performance gap.
    • Ensure accuracy on financial information at all times
    • Ensure that stock levels, product margins and variable costs are reviewed on a daily basis, and ensure that an efficient process is place for corrective actions
    • Ensure the financial accounting system is fully implemented and used effectively across the African region
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting
    • Ensure that a (tax) efficient legal structure and relevant processes are in place at all times
    • Investment analysis, reviews and recommendations
    • Establish an efficient and effective structure for day to day cash management and credit control
    • Ensure that effective funding and hedging structures are in place in line with corporate policies
    • Establish a highlight motivated and efficient finance organization, geared for the anticipated rapid growth
    • Incorporate newly acquired companies and assets into the Puma way of doing business

    Requirements
    Education

    • Degree in Accounting / Finance, CA/ACCA

    Experience

    • 10-15 years in senior financial management roles ort to the Country manager
    • Working experience in the storage and distribution of Petroleum products in a multi-national company
    • Working experience with developing and maintaining a strong finance team and finance processes - this includes the incorporation of new acquisitions if/when required. Direct involvement in the planning and execution of new business investments.

    Skills

    • Use of MS Office
    • Understanding of integrated financial systems
    • Industry knowledge
    • Understanding of Ghana tax legislation
    • Advanced excel and presentation skills
    • Experienced manager with proven motivational skills

    Competencies

    • Good English communication
    • Ability to work autonomously and take initiatives
    • Willingness to work long hours when required is critical
    • Desire and ability to achieve results under difficult circumstances and tough deadlines
    • A stable track record of previous successes in a similar role is critical.
    • Ability to cope with a multi-faceted workload in a high paced environment is key KPI.

    Finance Controller

    Main Purpose:

    • As Controller in our Finance Department, you will have a central role to implement a number of best practices pertaining to costs and margins follow up in order to enhance the profitability of the company and implement a number of Puma’s best practices.

    Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

    Key Responsibilities

    Margin Analysis

    • Monthly reporting of reliable business margin through correct inventory valuation and proper rationalisation of segmentation performance vs in country principles (price structure).
    • Preparation of monthly customer and site profitability.
    • Price updates and discount review: Review prices updates for new customers and discounts for reasonability/ accuracy/competitiveness before they are input in the system by price analyst.

    Reporting

    • Prepare daily controls
    • Prepare weekly volume flash and biweekly flash report
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of country financial results (Full P&L, Line of business and FX reviews)
    • Preparing monthly reporting packs for the country performance reviews
    • Review fixed cost by account and cost centers to ensure that they are reasonable and spending is within budget and that all exceptional items are properly explained
    • Focus on providing quality information to the Business with proper explanation for all the elements of the P&L
    • Propose new actions to the business in order to be more efficient
    • Prepare 3 month rolling cash flow in conjunction with treasury
    • Drive ad-hoc analysis as required by the business
    • Review stock positions monthly

    Budget and Plan

    • Prepare annual P&L budget and strategic plan according to group timelines
    • Deliver quality budgets on time with alignment of numbers with key stakeholders stating clear assumptions and cross checking of anchor points
    • Preparation of the annual capex budget

    Capex/Investment Review

    • Ensure adherence of procurement procedures relating to capex
    • Ensure capex budget is adequately utilized by running bi-weekly capex calls
    • Ensure accurate capex reporting (Actual and forecast)
    • Review of projects prior its approval as per DOA
    • Perform business case analysis (P&L, DCF, IRR, etc.)

    Tax

    • Comply with all Group, Statutory and Regulatory requirements of the company, such as Financial Statements and Monthly regulatory reporting eg Petroleum Activities Reports (PAR), Slate, Compensation recoveries
    • Liaise with tax team to ensure Tax reporting is correct.
    • Ensure that all compliance requirements are submitted accurately and on time.

    Ad-hoc

    • Provide reports/recommendation to management on any control issues.
    • Ensure that the company’s control framework is effective and fit for purpose and that it is aligned to the Group’s Control framework
    • Assist in providing information for statutory and internal audits in line with set timelines
    • Assist the FM in enforcing controls including DOA compliance
