Role Summary
As a Siebel Developer, you will deliver World Class technical solutions and services for our Employees, Partners and Customers. You will design, develop and implement technical solutions using multiple applications built on Siebel’s technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design the software system, describing the specifications in technical terms:
- Select algorithms, theories or technologies that will be used
- Plan appropriate user interface
- Identify and manage dependencies with other components
- Code, compile and run unit tests according to Implement processes and Metrics (KPIs)
Ensure knowledge sharing within the team about the developments
- Work towards development convergence:
- Improve code quality up to the Last Build, to reach the defined quality metrics i.e. component metrics and product metrics
Resolve quality issues (Production support):
- Resolution of incidents reports (IRs) reported by the Technical Customer Support or by Product QA teams
- Technological intelligence:
- Keep abreast of the latest technological developments, understand the requirements of our development partners, know about competing products, look ahead for future products, technologies, languages, amongst others
Requirement/Skills
• A first degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum of 3 years work experience with
o Siebel configuration, Assignment Manager, EIM, Workflows, Business Services, eScript
o Siebel Open UI
o Using EAI, VBC, web services, MSMQ
o One of the vertical application e.g. eService, eChannel, eSales, eMarketing
o Siebel-CRM Server Administration, IIS, Java-scripting, HTML, CSS
o Siebel Call Center
• Ability to work independently and/or within a collaborative team structure
• Strong functional use of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and knowledge of Access or SQL
• Strong knowledge of the Siebel Data Model, Databases, MSSQL Server, Linux

Role Purpose
- To drive development of Business Continuity Management across all Technology departments to enhance business resilience and level of preparedness to facilitate effective disaster recovery with minimal operational disruption and revenue loss
- Coordinate on-going Technology BCM Management including plan maintenance, recovery performance monitoring, training and reporting to ensure BCM principles are embedded in Technology operations
- Role activities require full alignment with Corporate Integrity & Risk Business Continuity and Crisis Management
Key Accountabilities
Deliver an effective Business Continuity Program for Technology
- High level Business Resilience plan aligned with Technology strategic plans
- Business Impact Analysis
- Definition of Mission Critical Systems
- Risk Assessments
- Single Point of Failure analysis including redundancy gaps & high dependency areas
- Design & implementation of Disaster Recovery Plans for mission critical systems
On-going Technology BCM Management
- Minimum annual business continuity documentation maintenance and update to reflect changes in systems architecture
- Implement change management procedure to facilitate update of Disaster Recover Plans
- Ensure compliance with Group Recovery Target Objectives (RTOs) and agreed Maximum Tolerable Periods of Disruption (MTPD)
- Review key business partner BCM plans and ensure alignment with VFGH requirements
BCM Exercise – Development & Coordination
- Develop schedule of BCM exercises to support disaster response preparedness
- Coordinate Technology Disaster Recovery Plan exercises and participate in centrally organised BCM exercises
Crisis Management response to all serious incidences within the business.
- Ensure correct implementation of Disaster Recovery Plans and Workplace Recovery Plans as prescribed
- Provide expertise and support to management and business functional areas, as required, when a business disruption occurs in line with recovery plans
Reporting on Business Continuity & Crisis Management activities and Incidents
- Report the business continuity status of business units to senior management
- Provision of Post Incident Reports on any Technology Business Continuity Incidents
BCCM & ERM Information Awareness
- Promote awareness throughout Technology on BCM
- Develop schedules for training / awareness for business partner associates.
Core Competencies
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in Technology infrastructure.
- Good understanding of and appreciation for Business Continuity & Crisis Management
- Appreciation of, and commitment to ITIL Service Management disciplines, preferably with experience working in an ITIL environment. Preferred ITIL
- Foundation Certification in IT-Service Management
- Knowledge of relevant technologies within the IT Infrastructure also understanding of business relevance of the technologies
- Knowledge of Vodafone’s products and services
- Knowledge of Enterprise Management Tools and practices
- Certification in a monitoring tool such as HP Open view an advantage
