    Process Training Officer

    Job Description

    • Actively promote AGA Health, Safety and Environmental actions and improvements which include housekeeping
    • Training employees as part of the International Cyanide Management Institute compliance requirements
    • Training the processing employees in compliance with Legal Instruments (LI’s) and Codes as laid down by the Republic of Ghana
    • Compiling, updating and conducting plant Induction procedures for employees and visitors
    • Maintains safe and healthy training environment by following organization standards and legal regulations.
    • Conducts training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks.
    • Designs computer-based training manuals by identifying and describing information needs; using desktop publishing; submitting initial versions for review; revising and editing final copy.
    • Conducts training classes by presenting job-specific, company-specific, and generic classes.
    • Evaluation of training by evaluating the effectiveness of training.
    • Contribute to the Budgeting and cost control Processes
    • Remedial action plans for returning out of alignment performance of the operations teams and associated equipment to budgeted targets.
    • Aiding the plant management for the development of strategic career paths and succession planning employees
    • Develop performance management set points and targets for your subordinates
    • Maintaining discipline and performance management
    • Constant assessment and challenging of the status quo to identify and align staff to optimal performance
    • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

    Rquirement/Skills

    • A tertiary qualification in either Extraction Metallurgy or teaching field
    • Preferably 10 years in a processing plant
    • Preferably 3 - 5 years at in a role similar to this would be advantageous
    • Experience and understanding of total mining cycle.

    Technical Competencies

    • Demonstrable intermediate level knowledge of metallurgical processes such as, but not limited to, size reduction, flotation, leaching, desorption and tailings disposal
    • Good presentation skills
    • Good written communication skills
    • Technical understanding

    Processing Operations Lead

    Job Description

    • Actively promote AGA Health, Safety and Environmental actions and improvements which include housekeeping
    • Conformance of EIA and permitting requirements
    • International Cyanide Management Institute compliance
    • Compliance with Legal Instruments (LI’s) and Codes as laid down by the Republic of Ghana
    • Lead and manage processing production teams with a unified sense of purpose and team independence and self-directed working practices
    • Plan, assign and coordinate resources for achieving production targets and efficiencies
    • Establish and schedule problem identification routines within work cycles (process troubleshooting and equipment reliability)
    • Control and where possible, eliminate process and procedure variance through
      • Data analysis
      • Root cause identification
      • Work process analysis
    • Budget and throughput / efficiency plans within plan
    • Remedial action plans for returning out of alignment performance of the operations teams and associated equipment to budgeted targets.
    • Develop strategic career paths and succession planning for your subordinates
    • Develop performance management set points and targets for your subordinates
    • Maintaining discipline and performance management
    • Constant assessment and challenging of the status quo to identify and align operations to budgeted targets
    • Prediction of impending process upsets with possible remedies / preventions
    • Frequent analysis of recent historical parameters to align and improve plant performance

    Requirement/Skills

    • A tertiary Metallurgical qualification or equivalent is required.  Failing this, extensive experience at the required level may be acceptable
    • 10 years’ experience in a processing plant.
    • Preferably 5 - 8 years at a junior management / shift supervision level
    • Experience and understanding of total mining cycle.
    • Proven experience in collaborating with the engineering department.

    • In depth understanding of Metallurgical Accounting

    Communication Specialist

    Job Description

    • Develop and implement an external communications approach and delivery plan to promote the delivery of the Obuasi Redevelopment Plan. 
    • Develop and implement an external communications approach and delivery plan to promote AGAG initiatives and interests across Ghana
    • Develop and deliver an internal communication plan to align internal AGAG stakeholders.
    • Develop and implement a communications plan to address all AGAG legacy risks and issues
    • Coordinate communications activities and company events including advising management with regard to appropriate protocols when hosting events
    • Research for relevant information affecting the industry and provide internal communications to management in an appropriate format to support informed decision making
    • Build on existing and develop new external stakeholder and policy-maker relationships in order to promote the AGAG brand
    • Develop and disseminate public relations materials that increases AGA’s visibility among stakeholders
    • Undertake feedback initiatives in order to measure the effectiveness of internal and external communications
    • Nurture and sustain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the Corporate Affairs Department

    Requirement/Skills

    • Post graduate Degree in Communication or Business Management.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
