    CIC Technician - Underground

    About The Job

    Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as CIC Technician - Underground.
    Role Purpose & Context:

    • The CIC Technician - Underground is accountable for executing all planned and corrective maintenance on controls, communications and instrumentation underground (except winding) in a safe and compliant manner as instructed during refurbishment, later maintenance, of the Underground equipment and infrastructure.
    • The work is to be executed in accordance with detailed tasking in accordance with applicable Government of Ghana and AGAG safety and environmental requirements.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Work according to total quality management principles & ensure zero defect objectives & safety
    • Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
    • Conduct periodic audits of all CIC refurbishment, later maintenance within the Surface Mine Infrastructure
    • Conduct reviews of the refurbishment, later maintenance, of the CIC equipment to identify actions for continuous improvement
    • Assist the CIC Supervisor – Underground to develop condition monitoring routes and checks for correct functioning equipment
    • Execute refurbishment, later maintenance, work checks on a routine scheduled basis. This include visual checks, infrared data collection, ultrasonic data collection, motor current and flux data collection, simple NDT data collection, verification of output within calibration and specification;
    • Analyse and trend predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc) to determine plant condition and report this condition for action;
    • Monitor general physical condition of CIC assets and report
    • Monitor preventive and corrective actions as necessary;
    • Execute repair work, where appropriate, on instrumentation, communication and control equipment
    • Generate work requests in SAP as required for refurbishment/maintenance, repair planning and scheduling
    • Ensure routine condition monitoring tasks are performed on all the rotating equipment by data collection using advanced portable data collectors and other tools according to the established schedules and also as per the plant requirements.
    • Gather information on vibration & other data collected in order to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems.
    • Actively participate in maintenance review programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of CIC equipment as per requirements.
    • Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives
    • Propose cost savings projects
    • Execute work in a timely manner; coordinate refurbishment work contractors to time plan, escalate real or potential delays
    • Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Qualification:

    • Secondary education level
    • Certificate of successful completion of respected CIC trade apprenticeship (example: City and Guilds) preferably an apprenticeship in electronics repair for communications, instrumentation 

    Experience: 

    • Electronics/instrumentation maintenance technician with 5+ years’ experience in, preferably, industrial instrumentation and controls
    • Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation

    Technical Competencies:

    • Fully literate and numerate 
    • Fully competent in CIC trade

    Laboratory Technologist

    Job Summary
    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Laboratory Technologist.
    Role Purpose & Context:

    • The Oil Lab Technologist is responsible for performing all analytical testing for mining production, process and other engineering related samples. The role holder will assist the Tribologist in ensuring that all diagnostic tests on oil samples are done according to standards.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Work according to total quality management principles & ensure zero defect objectives & safety
    • Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
    • Assist Tribologist in Oil Sample analysis and other related work
    • Receiving, registering and preparing specimens and samples for analyzes
    • Management of samples received in the laboratory
    • To analyze, compute and record sample test data and results, using computer controlled laboratory apparatus and instruments in conjunction with the integrated LIMS automatic data transfer system
    • Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
    • Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support investigations.
    • Liaising with field engineers for samples collection, submissions and receipts
    • Dispatching sampling kits to engineering sections 
    • Laboratory inventory and consumable management 
    • Laboratory apparatus, glassware and testing area management 
    • Participate in OHS meetings and safety committee meetings in areas of responsibility.
    • Handles special projects, as assigned.
    • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
    • Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives
    • Propose cost savings projects
    • Execute work in a timely manner
    • Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.
    • Report directly to the Tribologist on issues and identify and execute improvement projects
    • Stop equipment from working if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Qualification:

    • Minimum of  HND Lab Technology/Technician certificate or equivalent

    Experience:

    • 1 – 2 years in a commercial lab, petrochemical products manufacturing company, oil & gas industry, pharmaceutical industry, or in a mining related on-site oil lab

    Legal Requirements:

    • MINCOM Inspecting Engineer Certificate of Competency

    Technical Competencies:

    • Must be able to communicate about technical issues both orally and in writing
    • Must be Computer literate 
    • Knowledge of MS Office applications

    Project Planner

    ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

    To provide planning and scheduling support to Senior project planner, including schedule development, schedule risk analysis, scenario planning and project progress reporting. Support the Implementation of AGA project planning and schedule control process, and all project planning deliverables.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Comply with AGAG Environmental Management, compliance and other legal requirements.
    • Take action to prevent environmental pollution.
    • Comply and follow the operating procedures and environmental rules for the performance of the assigned job.
    • Correct, or report to their supervisor, any observed environmental deviations, practices and conditions as well make suggestions to improve any aspect of environmental management.
    • Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
    • Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
    • Act on all corrective actions assigned to you or under your jurisdiction and ensure timely completion.
    • Provide the project planning input to the Project Controls Plan, ensuring alignment between project functions (e.g., Schedule – Cost interface at project level).
    • Ensure understanding of and adherence to AGA planning and scheduling requirements/standards.
    • Assist in the maintenance of the project master schedule, accordingly, ensuring a clear schedule control process is implemented.
    • Implement the expanded WBS structure for the specific project.
    • Define schedule activity detail per discipline and develop key deliverable lists per discipline.
    • Assist with the maintenance of overall project schedule including activity logic and resources, with clear identification of critical path, and update as defined by the project reporting cycle
    • Provide support to the project risk management process by identifying key project risks and constraints within the project schedule and producing ‘What If” scenarios.
    • Assist in the provision of planning and schedule performance inputs to project status reporting. Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Qualification

    • Recognised tertiary qualification (degree) in Engineering.
    • Certificate in project management would be an added advantage.

    Experience 

    • At least 2 - 4 years’ experience in Project Controls functions, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Project Planning and Scheduling role on mining projects.
    • Demonstrated experience and understanding of project management principles, with advanced knowledge of planning principles.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in planning software packages, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.

    Technical Competencies

    • Engineering and Construction planning experience
    • Demonstrated experience and understanding of project management principles, with advanced knowledge of planning principles.
    • Knowledge of planning tools and systems including risk and scenario modelling.
    • Knowledge of related project controls functions specifically planning and control, progress measurement, change control and reporting principles.

    Other Competencies

    • Excellent problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
