    Project Officer

    The Project Officer at Plan International in collaboration with Vocational Training for Females (VTF) Programme will be responsible for the execution of project activities under the various objectives according to the agreed implementation plan to achieve Project deliverables. S/He will liaise with local authorities and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to provide innovative and job readiness skills necessary to create employment opportundies for youth in the Ashanti Region.

    The post holder will be based in Kumasi with frequent travel, approximately 70 percent of his/her time, to the project bcations across six districts in the region

    Specific Roles

    • Participates in quarterly project planning and review sessions:
    • Ensures that quarterly project plans/activities are executed according to agreed timelines:
    • Undertakes community entry and mobilisation exercise to identity project target groups for support
    • Identifies key district stakeholders and brings them on board
    • Liaises with selected TVET providers and BACs in the project districts to offer both soft and hard skills to the target groups,
    • Liaises with associations/employers in the hospitality industry to create opportunities for practical attachment for selected target groups;

    • Liaises with associations/employers in the hospitality industry to secure formal employment for selected target groups
    • Facilitates the formalisation of informal businesses in the hospitality industry in the project districts:
    • Supports awareness creation and publicity on the Project Implementation and successes:
    • Ensures effective and efficient use of project resources, including lend, equipment, materials. etc,
    • Undertakes advocacy activities to improve working conditions in the hospitality industry in the project districts.
    • Undertakes monitoring and follow-ups on project implementation and ensures best practices are adhered to:
    • Keeps track and documentation of project implementation, including successes, lessons and challenges for redress,
    • Develops quarterly plan based on the project implementation plan:
    • Prepares quarterly report on activities' Implementation.
    • Reviews all the vouchers for completeness and documentation and arithmetic accuracy
    • Fulfils the organisation's safeguarding Policy at all times to protect Children and the Youth from all forms of abuse
    • Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the achievement of the PASEWAY Project Goals

    Qualification and Experience

    • A good first degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences or in a related field from a recognised university
    • A minimum of 5 years' expenence in a Similar role in NGO sector.
    • A process-oriented working style, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable.
    • Fair knowledge in project management
    • Good ICT skills, Including web browsing. Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Competent in communicating at all levels

    Location: All positions are located in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana

    Accounts Officer

    The Accounts Officer at Plan International in collaboration with Vocational Training for Females (VTF) Programme will be responsible keeping proper book of accounts on all project transactions to aid the preparation of the overall Pathways for Sustainable Employment (PASEWAY) project financial reports for dissemination and decision making.

    Specific roles

    • Ensures that project transactions are reviewed and correctly entered into the approved software on a timely basis;
    • Ensures proper filing (electronic and hard copy) of grants financial reports
    • Prepares quarterly and year-end financial schedules of the project,
    • Prepares payroll and ensues prompt payment of all statutory obligations, bills, rents, insurance and others.
    • Reviews project sub-ledger for all advances and prepaid expenses and follows up on outstanding advances
    • Monitors and reviews advance liquidation
    • Assists in preparation of project annual budget
    • Monitors project budget and suggest modifications when necessary
    • Ensures financial reports are submitted timely before further funds are requested
    • Assists the Project Accountant in requesting tunds per agreed timelines or where necessary
    • Ensures compliance with best practices and donor specific requirements
    • Ensures project bank amount and cash balances never go negative by following up in a timely manner
    • Reviews all the vouchers to completeness and documentation and arithmetic accuracy.
    • Fulfils the organisation's safeguarding Policy at all times to protect Children and the Youth from all forms of abuse
    • Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the achievement of the PASEWAY Project Goals

    Qualification and Experience

    • A good first degree in Accounting with ICA Ghana part 2 or ACCA Foundation (Level 2) or its equivalent
    • A minimum of 3 years' expenence in a strni,r role in NGO sector
    • Knowledge of Financial Accounting software will be an add. advantage
    • Show strong understanding and knowledge ot Cash Flows. Budgetary Conrols. and Compliance with Finance Controls.
    • Fair knowledge in Project Management

    Administrative Assistant

    The Administrative Assistant at Plan International in collaboration with Vocational Training for Females (VTF) Programme will be responsible for managing and distributing information within the office_ Sitie will be in charge of sending and receiving correspondence. as well as managing the filing systems, both hard and soft copies of documents on all partners. businesses and beneficianes

    Specific Roles

    • Ensures that logistics and matenals, including quarterly project plans are available to all project staff for smooth implementation of the project:
    • Provides secretarial and office management support for the effective implementation of the project objectives
    • Attends to correspondence, emails. faxes
    • Manages office diary calendar and appointments
    • Ensures that all boo. (visitors. attendance. vehicle. equipment) are well kept
    • Receives and directs office calls
    • Assists in arranging conferences, meetings, special events
    • Assists in the filing and managing database of the programme
    • Supports in the documentation of all reports arid other clerical duties
    • Writes minutes of meetings
    • Participates in quarterly project planning and review sessions.
    • Performs basic book keeping duties
    • Ensures work environment and amenities are in good order
    • Fulfils the organisation's Safeguarding Policy at all times to protect Children and the Youth from all forms of abuse
    • Performs any other duties that may be assigned from time to time to support the achievement of the PASEWAY Project Goals

    Qualification, Skills and Experience

    • An HND or related certificate in Secretaryship
    • At least 3 years working experience in a similar capacity
    • Good organisational and coordination skills
    • Ability to multitask
    • Ability to work independently and as a teen) player who demonstrates leadership qualities.
    • Good ICT skills, including web browsing. Microsoft applications (Word)
