    Electrical Supervisor – Underground

    Job Description

    • Work according to total quality management principles & ensure zero defect objectives & safety
    • Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
    • Gather information for the Electrical Superintendent – Underground for reporting performance
    •  Conduct periodic audits of all electrical equipment in Underground infrastructure (secondary fans, cabling, etc.) during refurbishment, later maintenance
    • Conduct reviews of the electrical refurbishment, later maintenance, of the Underground infrastructures to identify actions for continuous improvement
    • Organize information for the Electrical Superintendent – Underground to develop condition monitoring routes and checks for infrastructure equipment;
    • Execute refurbishment, later maintenance, work checks on a routine scheduled basis. This include visual checks, vibration data collection, infrared data collection, ultrasonic data collection, motor current and flux data collection, simple NDT data collection;
    • Analyse and trend predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) to determine plant condition and report this condition for action;
    • Monitor general physical condition of plant assets and report
    • Monitor preventive and corrective actions as necessary;
    • Generate work requests in SAP as required for new build/ maintenance planning and scheduling
    • Ensure routine condition monitoring tasks are performed on all the rotating equipment by data collection using advanced portable data collectors and other tools according to the established schedules and also as per the plant requirements.
    • Gather information on vibration & other data collected in order to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems.
    • Actively participate in maintenance review programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of Electrical equipment as per requirements.
    • Identify, communicate, and implement potential cost reduction initiatives
    • Propose cost savings projects
    • Execute work in a timely manner; coordinate refurbishment work contractors to time plan, escalate real or potential delays
    • Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.
    • Report directly to the Superintendent on issues and identify and execute improvement projects
    • Stop equipment from working if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used

    Requirement/Skills

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Maintenance Management, or equivalent
    • Financial, commercial, and project management through work experience and courses
    • Must possess Supervisors Certificate of Competency from Mineral Commission of Ghana.
    • Professional Certificated Supervisor with a relevant certification body
    • An experienced Electrical maintenance Supervisor with 5+ years’ experience in, preferably, Underground maintenance
    • Experience in management of Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC)
    • Experience in Project Management   
    • Professional Supervisor with a relevant certification body
    • Knowledge of SAP PM module
    • Strong Electrical maintenance competencies in mining  environment
    • Sound project management skills
    • Should have analytical skills to be able to evaluate information and solve complex problems.
    • Detail oriented to understand complex systems, and recognition that a minor error can cause major problems.
    • Commercially astute and able to work effectively with third parties.
    • Legally astute with respect to project delivery and maintenance systems
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Excel
    • Must be able to communicate about technical issues both
    • Build and sustain a team of subordinates capable of producing those outputs;
    • Continuously improve the processes used by the team in delivering outputs;
    • Model work behaviors for your subordinates,

    Ports Officer

    Job Description
    Commercial Correspondence / Documentation / Classification:

    • To ensure that complete set of documents are received from the mine sites
    • To ensure pre-alerts received are used to create the shipment file and followed up with mine sites for the original documents
    • Correspondence associated with shipments and queries are acknowledged and appropriately responded to
    • Items in a shipment are classified in line with the requirement of the Harmonized System and Customs Tariff Schedule
    • GCNet:
    • Creation of the Unique Consignment Reference report (UCR)
    • Creation of the electronic Import Declaration Form (eIDF) using the UCR
    • Creation of Ghana Standards Authority report
    • Creation of the Minerals Commission report for all items on the mining list
    • Creation of the Environmental Protection Agency report for all chemical based items
    • Prepare Customs Classification and Valuation Report (CCVR) for customs approval
    • Prepare Customs Declaration for Duties and other taxes to be paid on the shipments
    • Duties and Taxes Payment and Shipping Line:
    • Payment of Duties and Taxes at the appropriate bank
    • Receipts and payments of shipping line charges for shipments
    • Release of shipments from the Shipping Lines

    Terminal Clearance:

    • Arrange for all necessary documents for Shipping Line releases in the form Delivery Orders
    • Arrange for all payments of Terminal Charges (for both Tema Port and K. I. A)
    • Organize for clearing of shipments from the Terminals
    • Arrangement of the appropriate vehicles for the transportation of the shipments from the ports to the mine sites

    Compliance:

    • Awareness / management of NACOB requirements for imports and exports of Precursor Chemicals
    • Awareness / management of EPA requirements for Chemicals and Insecticides imports
    • Awareness / management of FDA requirements for Food Products imports
    • Awareness / management of GSA requirements for various imports
    • Awareness / management of reporting (monthly/quarterly/annual) requirement

    Requirement/Skills

    • A Bachelor Degree in a Professional Field of study. Possession of CILT or CIPS certificate will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferably in the area of Supply Chain and Logistics
    • Experience in clearing and logistics will be an added advantage
    • Demonstrate working knowledge in customs, clearing and terminal operations
    • Should have a satisfactory oral communication and report writing skills
    • Demonstrate good computer literacy
    • Should possess good interpersonal skills
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Knowledge of principle and methods for moving goods by air, sea and road
    • General exposure to business will be an added advantage
    • Experience in safety, health and environment management in the workplace
    • Management of resources available for the performance of duties
    • Team player: inspiring and motivating others, promoting team work
    • Managing self: taking ownership of one’s personal development
    • Displaying high levels of ethical and moral uprightness
