    Security Officer – CCTV (Systems Administrator)

    AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Security Officer - CCTV (Systems Administrator).

    ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

    Responsible for planning, installing, upgrading, configuring, repairing, and maintaining network-based Security systems, including Access Control, Intrusion Alarm, Video Surveillance, Digital Video Recording and other systems supporting the safety and security of AngloGold Ashanti employees, contractors and facilities. This role will play critical part in ensuring that the security management plan is successfully implemented for the redevelopment of the Obuasi mine.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Maintain all systems and equipment in good working order
    • Analyze the efficiency of systems by continuously evaluating to system availability and additions requirement for optimization
    • Define, develop, synergize, optimize system and administrate procedures.
    • Implement contingency plans in case of emergency i.e. systems failure
    • Maintain focused surveillance on plant operations to ensure that such operations are conducted.
    • Selection of focus / area surveillance to be formulated from request and information received
    • Ensure specific tasking on focus and area surveillance to operators.
    • Enforce strict adherence to safety roles and accountabilities through daily review of performance
    • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations within the workplace
    • Attend departmental Safety Meetings Regularly
    • Provide advice to Line management on the evaluation and application of all Security systems by means of well-prepared task execution plans;
    • Maintain focused surveillance on plant operations to ensure such activities conforms to the Global Security Standards
    • Apply the rules and techniques of Project management to the specific tasks, particularly in time, cost and quality.
    • Assist with installation, commissioning, testing and modification of equipment and effectively manages and controls all contractors on site;
    • Responsible for drone operation
    • Implement and maintain a work schedule for Maintenance work (planned maintenance schedules) to ensure all systems and equipment are in good working order.
    • Conduct risk assessments and audits in critical areas and other areas of responsibility to ensure existing security measures are efficient and effective.
    • Preserve files by performing regular backups; developing procedures for Integrated Electronic Security Systems (IESS) management and disaster preparedness.
    • Provide staff and users with assistance: solving IESS related problems including malfunctions and ensure effective utilization of the Global Security Information Management System (GSIMS).
    • Prepare “Cost-Benefit” and “Return on Investment” (ROI) analyses to aid in decisions on systems implementation and recommend new security technologies for the mine when necessary.
    • Identify measures or indicators for systems performance and actions needed to improve or correct performance related to attainment of goals of the system.
    • Ensure confidentiality is maintained on all systems i.e. password, data etc.
    • Co-ordinate manpower planning and training for system operators
    • Ensure on the job training for sub-ordinates
    • Perform regular inspections and audits in accordance with Global Security Framework Standards
    • Ensure all systems faults are logged into GSIMS
    • Co-ordinate special installations on request when and where needed
    • Co-ordinate the effective issuing of access badges to employees, contractors and visitors
    • Maintain an appropriate level of essential critical spares for immediate replacement in the event of equipment failure.
    • Offer technical assistance to Security Technical team.
    • Ensure regular data backup for systems contingencies.
    • Ensure all operators are issued with the required training on new software related to the job.
    • Ensure procedures for system handling are in place and visible to end users.
    • Submit monthly reports on Control Room operations, systems, equipment and material utilization as well as repairs, maintenance and relocations
    • Ensure daily checks on faulty equipment’s are logged into GSIMS and actioned
    • Ensure daily updates on maintenance schedules and GSIMS updated
    • Ensure on the job training for sub-ordinates
    • Train sub-ordinates in the operation and utilization of systems and equipment
    • Co-ordinate manpower planning and training of systems operators
    • Develop and maintain development plans of all operators and Technicians
    • Attend scheduled Security meetings when required
    • Promote AGAG organizational values e.g. responsible behaviour, respect, honesty and integrity
    • Maintain a high level of mental and physical fitness required to perform the job i.e. legal aspect, procedures and technological advancements and fitness
    • Identify and report all Safety and Health hazards.
    • Adhere to all Safety and Health regulations.
    • Ensure familiarity with site specific Emergency Evacuation procedure

    Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science or a Diploma in systems software

    Experience

    • Must have 2 years strong networking and IT background, including experience installing and maintaining of Cathexis application Platforms, Analogue/ IP based cameras, Wireless networking systems, and computer hardware/software.
    • Must have 2 years Field Technical experience supporting network systems, including CCTV Surveillance, Access Control, Intruder Alarm systems, and Information Technology infrastructure.
    • Experience and skilled knowledge in investigations will be an advantage

    Security Officer – CCTV (Systems Reviewer)

    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Security Officer - CCTV (Systems Reviewer).

    ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

    The Security Officer – CCTV (Systems Reviewer) is accountable to operate (review) and utilize the computerized management system to protect the product at source and the prevention and detection of theft. Supporting the role of the CCTV System Administrator by coordinating security functions within the Obuasi area.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Ensure confidentiality is maintained on all password information change.
    • Ensure all equipment in the CCTV is fully operational and report any faults to the CCTV Systems Administrator.
    • Provide a secure environment for the conduct of the mine’s activities and security of its assets by enforcing Security policies and procedures and by constant monitoring thereof to ensure compliance
    • Maintain the highest standards of discipline, working behaviours, integrity and confidentiality expected from the AGA security function within your area of accountability.
    • Conduct target, focused and aggressive surveillance and building profiles on suspicious persons and activities
    • Conduct risk assessments and audits in critical areas and other areas of responsibility to ensure existing security measures are efficient and effective.
    • Identify security risks within your area of accountability and report to the supervisor such risks in order for him to develop strategies to counter/mitigate the risks.
    • Correct usage of security equipment and reports any deficiencies. 
    • Maintain the highest standards of discipline, working behaviour, integrity and confidentiality expected from the AGAG security function within your work place.
    • Report and co-ordinate reaction to all alarms (CCTV, Vehicle Tracking (Geo Fence Exits, Over speeding, hash braking and unapproved route usage) Access Control and Intruder).
    • Report all suspicious incidents and activities to CCTV Systems Administrator for further investigation.
    • Monitor the ongoing activities of the CCTV and Drone Operators.
    • Attend disciplinary hearings as per role requirement (complainant, witness)
    • Submit monthly report on CCTV system reviews, alarms, vehicle tracking (Geo Fence Exits, Over speeding and hash braking) and video Motion Detections (VMD) to the CCTV Systems Administrator
    • Perform required administration tasks e.g. completion of GSIMS reports and registers etc.
    • Attend all scheduled training sessions
    • Attend training courses when nominated
    • Attend scheduled Security meetings when required
    • Promote AGAG organizational values e.g. responsible behaviour, respect, honesty and integrity
    • Liaise on a daily basis with Systems Administrator on issues of importance.
    • Ensure that communication with all colleagues and with stakeholders is professional at all times.
    • Attend scheduled Security meetings.
    • Identify and report all Safety and Health hazards with technology.
    • Promote Safety and Health in the workplace with a view of Zero Tolerance.
    • Adhere strictly to Health and Safety regulations within the workplace

    Qualification

    • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or equivalent

    Experience

    • Three (3) to five (5) years working experience in a similar role or as a CCTV control room operator. Security, Police or Military experience
    • Experience and skilled knowledge in investigations will be an advantage

    Technical Competencies

    • Ability to read body language, operating in a CCTV control rooms, intruder alarm system, understanding of satellite tracking systems and knowledge of relevant electronic specialization.
    • Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Power Point with excellent presentation skills.
    • Experience and training in Cathexis Systems software;
    • Must have knowledge of the laws of Ghana and legal codes, relevant policies and procedures

    Security Superintendent – Process Plant

    AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is currently on a journey to redevelop the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, efficient and long-term profitable operation. The underground mining operation will be fully mechanized, designed to produce up to an average maximum of 5,000 t/day of ore mined.

    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Security Superintendent - Process Plant.

    ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

    To assist the Security Manager in managing a team to ensure the maintenance of law and order and safeguarding (prevention/detection/protection) of the Company’s assets (life and property) within the Process Plant.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Effectively model value-based behaviours and apply all managerial leadership practices in relation to Subordinates;
    • Build and maintain a team of Subordinates capable of doing the necessary work;
    • Appraise performance of security operations within Process Plant by regular inspections and audits in order to improve on level of security;
    • Communicate all changes to policies, procedures and codes team within area of accountability;
    • Connect & coordinate with various interest group within Process Plant;
    • Consult/Advise with line management regarding security practices;
    • Coordinate and monitor bullion dispatches;
    • Assist in the development of an operational plan with a 3 month to 1-year duration for the Security Function;
    • Evaluate current access/surveillance systems for effectiveness within Processing Plant;
    • Initiate appropriate security actions and practices;
    • Render technical advice to key stakeholders e.g. plant personnel, and line management on matters such as trends, systems, policies, procedures and codes;
    • Represent the business unit on various forums if applicable;
    • Propose/Recommend changes to existing policies, procedures and codes to ensure effectiveness;
    • Manage the implementation of approved changes to security systems within Processing Plant;
    • Analyze appropriate security actions and practices by checking weekly reports on all incidents and crime reported;
    • Implement operational plans in accordance of Threat & Risk analysis in area of accountability.
    • Identify and initiate investigations in areas of concern;
    • Analyze new trends in crime or up rises in statistics within Processing Plant and take appropriate action;
    • Investigate all reported crime;
    • Ensure screening practices for all employees employed in positions of trust where applicable;
    • Ensure appropriate admin systems for personnel data, crime registers, bullion despatch registers, reports, etc. are in place within area of accountability;
    • Coordinate the administration of various security functions within area of accountability
    • Develop and propose annual budget and monitor expenditure monthly;
    • Assist in forecasting next budget cycle requirements;
    • Continuously identify and maintain cost savings initiatives;
    • Identify and access all hazards and risks;
    • Initiate regular risk assessments within area of accountability and update AURISK accordingly.
    • Model behaviour that is consistent with AGAG Health and Safety Vision and Values;
    • Contribute to the identification of risks, resolve and escalate issues that impact on area of accountability;
    • Maintain processes that facilitate a safe work environment e.g. lead safety toolbox talks, inspect planned task observations, review job safety analysis documentation and conduct work inspections to all employees and external service providers undertaking work within area of accountability to reduce the number of significant hazards towards zero lost time injuries;
    • Promote Health and Safety at the workplace with a view of Zero Tolerance.

    Qualification

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Security, ASIS CPP or equivalent
    • Relevant professional investigations training / qualification (CSMP, PSI, etc.)
    • A working knowledge in the Laws and Justice System of Ghana

    Experience

    • Five (5) to seven (7) years of security/asset protection related experience with direct exposure in the fields of Operations, Process Plant and Security administration at any Security Leader level.
    • Experience and skilled knowledge in investigations will be an advantage

    Technical Competencies

    • Qualified Firearm Instructor;
    • Must have a valid driving license.
