    College Internal Auditor

    •  In general, the Internal Auditor will provide an independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the college’s operations.
    •  He/She will help the college accomplish its objectives by bringing a systmatic disciplind approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control and governance processes

    Responsibilities and Duties

    The responsibilities and duties of the Internal Auditor include:

    •  Determining the reliability and adequacy of accounting, financial and operational controls in the college
    •  Evaluate the procedures of the college to determine whether results are consistent with stated objectives and goals
    •  Monitoring compliance with established policies, plan and procedures
    •  Appraising the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguarded against losses
    •  Ensuring that reliable records form the basis for the preparation of appropriate financial and other data provided for decision-making
    •  Drawing the Principal’s attention to deficiencies in the system, instances of duplicated functions, waste or other inefficiencies with recommendations for remedies where necessary
    •  Carrying out special reviews of accounting and internal and control systems with the view to minimizing weakness

    Qualification Required & Experience

    •  Applicant must hold a good first degree or comparable qualification plus a relevant professional qualification and a Master’s Degree in the relevant area
    •  Must be a member of a recognized accountancy professional association as well as a member of the institute of internal auditor in a college of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organization for at least 4 years

    Terms of Appointment

    • The successful applicant shall hold office for 4 years and may, upon application be eligible for re-appointment for a further term of 4 years only, provided that no part of the second term enters the compulsory retirement age

    College Finance Officer

    • The College Finance Officer’s position is a top management position heading a major division of the college
    •  He/she shall be chief Accounting Officer of the college and the chief Financial Advisor to the Principal
    •  He/She shall be responsible to the Principal for the financial administration of the college in accordance with the public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921)

    Responsibilities and Duties

    The Finance Officer

    •  Is the Chief Accounting Officer of the college and the Chief Financial Advisor to the Principal
    •  Has general responsibility for the administration of the financial health and he/she exercises direct superintendence over all accounting officers
    •  Is responsible for collecting all legitimate revenue due to the college
    •  Exercises control over expenditure in line with the college’s objectives and budgets
    •  Has the duty of preparing the anual budget of the college for presentation to the appropriate governing body for approval and implementation
    •  Is also responsible for ensuring that the financial statements of the college are drawn up in accordance with the law establishing the colleges and statutes, applicable accounting standards and all other regulations approved by the college as well as ll other relevant national laws and
    •  Liaises with the appointed external auditors to get the college’s financial statements audited

    Qualification Required & Experience

    •  Applicants must hold a good first degree or comparable qualification plus a relevant professional qualification and a Master’s degree in finance / accounting
    •  He/She must have served as a Deputy Finance Officer in a college of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least 4 years

    In addition, applicant must:

    •  Be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary
    •  Possess hands-on ability to work independently
    •  Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and supervisory skills
    •  Be a good team player
    •  Possess strong IT skills and familiarity with accounting software
    •  Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
    •  Possess proactive commercial flair

    College Secretary

    • The College Secretary is the Head of the Office of the College Secretariat.
    •  He/She shall assist the Principal in the administration and management of the college
    •  He/She is the secretary to the College council, all committees of council as well as all statutory committee secretary to ensure the functioning of all boards and standing committees of the college

    Responsibilities and Duties

    The Office of the College Secretary is in charge of all administrative, secretarial and personnel matters of the college with include:

    •  Human resource management
    •  Keeping and maintaining the inventory of the college’s assets
    •  Management and development of the college’s assets
    •  Administration and organisation of admissions
    •  Organization of examinations and publications of results
    •  Organization of all official ceremonies including matriculation, congregation and convocation

    Qualification Required & Experience

    •  Applicants must hold a good first degree and a postgraduate degree preferably in administration and management related area
    •  He/she must have served as a Deputy Secretary in a college of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organisation for at least 4 years

    Vice Principal

    •  The College Vice-Principal shall be the assistant to the Principal who serves as the academic, administrative and executive head and disciplinary officer of the college.
    •  He/she is responsible for assisting the Principal in overall management and administration of the college in accordance with the college of Education Act, the Harmonised statutes for the colleges of Education, the decision of council and the academic board as well as other national laws and regulations.
    •  He/She will shall assists the Principal in maintaining and promoting efficiency in the college
    •  He/She shall be appointed by the college council upon the recommendations of a search committee and in accordance with the Act and on such terms and conditions as council shall determine

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The candidate must:

    •  Have relevant research Master’s Degree. A PhD degree in Education will be an added advantage
    •  Be of a rank not below Principal Tutor in a college of Education or a Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education University
    •  Have post qualification teaching and research experience in a tertiary institution
    •  Be a distinguished scholar with a capacity to motivate and direct staff
    •  Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organizational skills and be above reproach
    •  Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capacity to manage and control crises situations
    •  Be sober with maturity and able to give sound and impartial judgement
    •  Be able to attract grants and funds for research and development activities for the college
    •  Have been in a management position for at least 3 years
    •  Be able to serve the full three-year term of office before attaining the compulsory retiring age of 60.

    Terms of Appointment

    •  The appointment, which is full-time, shall be for 3 years and may be subject to renewal for another 3 years only.
