    College Principal

    The College Principal is the Chief Academic, Administrative and Disciplinary Officer and in that capacity shall, subject to the general direction of council of the college, or policies that the council may give:

    •  Ensure the implementation of the decisions of the council
    •  Exercise general authority over staff of the college

    Be responsible for

    •  Admission of students
    •  Discipline and supervision of staff and students
    •  Preparation of the annual estimates of income and expenditure for consideration by council
    •  Providing council with returns, reports and other relevant information as required

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The candidate must have:

    •  An advanced degree with a research component, preferably a PhD
    •  Rank not below Senior Lecturer, Deputy Director (GES) or Principal Tutor at the college of Education
    •  Relevant senior management experience of at least 5 years
    •  Proven leadership skills and be a team player
    •  Ability to direct and motivate staff
    •  Must have extensive knowledge and experience of the tertiary education system in Ghana
    •  Must be able to serve a minimum of one term of four (4) years from expected date of appointment before reaching the statutory compulsory retirement age of sixty (60).

    Vice Principal

    •  The Vice Principal shall assist the Principal in the overall management, administration, academic and disciplinary issues of the college in accordance with the colleges of Education Act 2012 (Act 847) and other regulatory provisions governing the colleges of education and in relation to the oversight responsibility of the governing council of the college
    •  Perform the functions assigned by the Principal of the college
    •  Act in the adsence of the Principal of the college among others

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The candidate must have:

    •  Have good character and high degree of personal integrity
    •  Be a distinguished master teacher and scholar in Teaching and learning
    •  Be at least a 5 years relevant post-qualification experience in a senior management position with good knowledge and understanding of the challenges facing the colleges of education in particular and tertiary education in Ghana in general and be ready to propose measures to mitigate them
    •  Be able to complete at least one term of three (3) years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60).

    •  The college librarian has overall responsibility for library, research and information needs of the college community
    •  He/she provides leadership in advancing the college’s role, comprehensive strategic planning and incorporation of emerging technology

    The College Librarian shall:

    •  Serve as the professional and administrative head of the college library
    •  Draw up and monitor the implementation of college library strategic plan
    •  Establish and maintain procedures, policies and systems that make efficient library operation
    •  Plan, organise, coordinate and measure the work activities of all libraries and organisations within and outside the country to attract grants for library development and be exposed to international best practices and
    •  Be a member of the academic board

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The candidate must have:

    •  Possess a postgraduate degree in library of information related fields
    •  Have served as Deputy Librarian in a college of education or comparable grade in similar institution/organisation for at least 4 years
    •  Be conversant with library records management software
    •  Be analytical, critical, informative and research-oriented
    •  Have a good character, leadership skills and high degree of professional integrity and
    •  Be able to complete at lease one term of 4 years before attaining the compulsory retirement age of sixty (60).

    College Secretary

     The College Secretary is the head of the Office of the College Secretariat. He/She is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College and reports to the Principal

    The College Secretary shall

    •  Assist the Principal in the day-to-day administration and management of the college
    •  Be in charge of all administration, secretarial and personnel matters of the college
    •  Be the secretary to the college council, all committees of council, as well as statutory committees of the college
    •  Ensure the functioning of all boards and standing committees of the college and be responsible for the co-ordination of the college’s strategic planning, policy formulation and implementation and
    •  Perform any other official function as may be assigned by the governing council or delegated by the Principal

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The candidate must have:

    •  Hold a good first degree and minimum of master’s degree, preferably in Administration and management related fields
    •  Have served as a Deputy College Secretary in a tertiary institution/organisation for at least 4 years
    •  Be capable of planning, organising, implementing and administratively managing all activities related to the office of the college secretary
    •  Have considerable knowledge, experience and understanding of the tertiary education structures and environment in general
    •  Should be able to develop and implement strategies to achieve the mission and vision of the college
    •  Be capable of working effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
    •  Have strong intellect and proven emotional stability and integrity
    •  Be computer literate and
    •  Be able to complete at least one term of 4 years before attaining the compuslory retirement age of sixty (60).

    Internal Auditor

    • The Internal Auditor is the head of the college’s internal Audit Unit and provides independent, objective and consulting services designed to add value and improve the college’s operations
    •  He/She also provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve risk management, control and governance processes of the college

    The Internal Auditor shall:

    •  Ensure the establishment and operation of an efficient and effective internal financial control system
    •  Vet all proposed expenditures to ensure compliance with laid-down internal control systems and other statutory requirements
    •  Assess the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguard losses
    •  Monitor and ensure that expenditures incurred have been authorised and are within budgetary provisions
    •  Liaise with the external auditors to ensure that appropriate actions are taken on reported audit findings
    •  Draw the attention of the Principal and the Finance Officer to deficiencies in the system with recommendation for remedies and
    •  Discharge any other assignments that the Principal shall deem necessary in consultation with the Chairman of the college council

    Qualification Required & Experience

    The candidate must have:

    •  Hold a good first degree and a master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
    •  Have a professional qualification in the relevant fields and be a member of a relevant professional body, as well as a member of the institute of internal auditors
    •  Have served as a Deputy Internal Auditor in a college of Education or comparable grade in a similar institution/organistion for at least 4 years
    •  Have strong intellect, be analytical, critical, result-oriented, innovative and visionary
    •  Have proven emotional stability and integrity
    •  Possess strong I.T skills and familiar with financial management framework
    •  Exhibit a high sense of industry, leadership qualities and organisational skills
    •  Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and
    •  Be able to complete at least one term of 4 years before attaining the compuslory retirement age of sixty (60).
