    Commercial Advisor

    • An ideal role for an individual who has expertise on commercial contracts and commercial excellence for all of the commercial activities associated with the safe, timely and reliable management of the obligations arising from the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Sale and Purchase Agreement between Shell Energy Ghana (SEG) and Shell International Trading Middle East (SITME), a terminal use agreement between SEG and Tema LNG Terminal Limited (TLTL) and the long-term Gas Sales Agreement with SEG’s primary customer, Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC).

    This role will also be involved in commercial opportunities and support to other Shell business lines.
    Where you fit in:

    •  Provide commercial expertise and support for all SEG contractual obligations, reacting and assisting Gas/LNG Operations in resolving commercial disputes and other issues including shortfall volumes, disputes in volumes which affect invoicing, off-spec, audits, credit supports
    •  Actively manage risks across the contracts to mitigate and minimize value loss
    •  Act as the in-country Commercial Lead in relation to front-line negotiations including commercial advice on structuring and negotiating regional New Business Development (NBD) opportunities such as Project Development and Frame Agreements, Gas Sales and Purchase Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Product Sales Agreements and LNG or Re-gas Asset or Infrastructure use/share/lease related agreements
    •  Supporting for overall commercial integrity, contributing to best practice sharing and continuous improvement of NBD processes, ensuring proper documentation and reporting of activities, adherence to established internal controls / mandates and provision of advice to Downstream, and Upstream Lines of Business
    •  Support any SEG commercial and contract amendments that are required post start up, liaising with Shell Origination and Market Development, Projects & Technology, Legal and Finance teams
    •  Deputize for the SEG Managing Director and responsible for the commercial interface with internal and external stakeholders whilst providing backfill support where required to LNG and Gas Operations including nominations/inventory management, commercial and operational cost management
    •  Leadership of HSSE in project delivery and execution
    •  Be pro-active, lead and close out commercial related disputes with external and internal counterparts and support SEG where necessary.
    •  Provide initial Market Intelligence and Business Development support for new opportunities to Shell LNG Marketing and Trading (SLMT). Data gathering and review of all relevant HSSE, technical, commercial, legal, fiscal, political and organizational aspects
    •  Understand Shell internal approval processes, leading and engaging with the required internal stakeholders and provide Commercial overviews and forecasting as needed for internal reporting, Business Planning and for Annual Reports.
    •  Exhibit good management skills, be able to work successfully in different cultural environments and with people from diverse backgrounds.

    •  Understand and work effectively with SLMT and cross business teams regionally/globally to deliver opportunities

    Commercial Operations Lead

    • To provide logistical and operational management for all the activities associated with the safe, timely and reliable management of the obligations arising from the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Sale and Purchase Agreement between Shell Energy Ghana (SEG) and Shell International Trading Middle East (SITME), , a terminal use agreement between SEG and Tema LNG Terminal Limited (TLTL)  and the long-term Gas Sales Agreement with SEG’s primary customer, Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC). Also works closely with a Shell Energy (SE) Trading & Supply (T&S) Operations team (in UK/Dubai) providing nominations and inventory management services to SEG.

    Where you fit in:

    •  Provide logistical and administrative support to T&S LNG and Gas Operations. Executes all contractual obligations, reacting and resolving operational day to day issues. Actively manage risks across the contracts to mitigate and minimize value loss
    •  Ensure that LNG and Gas Operations fully comply with Shell’s internal standards incl. OSP, Ethics and Compliance and HSSE
    •  Support T&S Gas Operations in the LNG and Gas nominations management process with counterparties SITME, TLTL and GNPC
    •  Understand and ensure inventory management tracking including LNG volumes, AIU, ACQ and DCQ management, specific delivery schedule (SDS) forecasting, LNG and Gas shortfall volumes, liabilities, hydrocarbon ARAP calculations are performed
    •  Execute LNG cargo management procedures as the primary interface between SITME and Terminal including documentary instructions, LNG scheduling, discharge reports, berthing and loading, demurrage tracking, vessel notifications, quality management, SDS input, ADP and information exchange
    •  Focal point and lead for all operational cost management including gas invoicing, LNG payments, terminal fees payment, pre-payment reimbursement, port costs, customs and import duty payments, direct and indirect taxes tracking, ad-hoc invoicing and all other commercial costs
    •  Responsible for document management and annual reconciliations
    •  Liaising with T&S LNG and Gas Operations to ensure alignment and achieve efficient virtual ways of working.
    •  In addition to the Key Account holder (MTA) establish and maintain relationships with Port of Tema and Terminals to ensure proactive issues are successfully resolved.
    •  Identify and implement short term initiatives to continuously improve the efficiency of all aspects of the Gas/LNG operations
    •  Focal Point for any operational external reporting requirements
    •  Focal point for any audits by Shell Trading
    •  Identify and exploit synergies with other parts of Shell Trading
    •  Actively engage with the Commercial Operations Teams across the other hubs to ensure the Operations process alignment and resourced to meet current and future business needs.
    •  Actively engage with the Regional Trading Team Lead and Freight traders to ensure business continuity and commercial added value in the Operations space to meet current and future business needs.
    •  Be pro-active, lead and close out operational related disputes with external and internal counterparts and support SEG Managing Director where necessary.
    •  Exhibit good management skills, be able to work successfully in different cultural environments and with people from diverse backgrounds.

    Requirements

    What we expect from you: 

    •  Part of a global SE Operations team that manages the movements of approximately 60 LNG vessels and LNG volumes of approximately 45 mtpa.
    • Whilst responsible for the Ghana in-country LNG and gas operations, the SEG Commercial Operations Lead is expected to understand and work effectively with the LNG and Gas operations teams regionally/globally to resolve issues.

    Finance and Office Administrator

    • An ideal role for an individual who can provide finance,  administrative and logistical  management of the Shell Energy Ghana (SEG) Accra office and  for all of the associated support activities associated with the safe, timely and reliable management of  the  obligations arising from the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Sale and Purchase Agreement between SEG and Shell International Trading Middle East (SITME), a terminal use agreement between SEG and Tema LNG Terminal Limited (TLTL) and the long-term Gas Sales Agreement with SEG’s primary customer, Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC).

    Where you fit in:

    •  Coordinate the in-country activities of Accounting and Finance operations within the asset (Treasury; Accounts Payable/Receivable; Management reporting; regulatory compliance, Tax etc) and to provide effective and efficient administrative services to the SEG office.
    •  Deliver specific tasks in the area of annual external audit, tax compliance, reporting/submission and resolution of ongoing finance process issues leveraging internal and external resources
    •  Ensure correct and timely finance reporting to the Shell Group and strong compliance with local and Group policies.
    •  Managing the entity’s cash position / funding requirements
    •  In-country finance support and liaison to Shell Group Finance including interacting with cash management and other Finance functions
    •  Legal Entity Controller and Board Secretary
    •  Act as the contracts and procurement focal point, payroll and vendor liaison. Responsible for managing external contracted service providers, interface with providers, invoice processing and deliverables follow up.
    •  Lead Non-Hydrocarbons Accounts Receivables and Payables
    •  Support Managing Director with local governance/regulatory/ compliance activities, reporting and local communications.
    •  Effectively manage Shell office, ensuring compliance with all HSSE office requirements; drive compliance with HSSE standards by colleagues, visitors and contractors
    •  Exhibit good management skills, be able to work successfully in different cultural environments and with people from diverse backgrounds

    • The SEG business is extremely dynamic, fast-moving and demanding and a significant contributor to Group net income.
    • Key support to the Finance organization on day to day basis and works closely with Group Finance and the global community of finance advice staff.
