    Ghana Atomic Energy Commission was established by an Act of Parliament, Act 204 of 1963, as the sole Agency in Ghana responsible for all matters relating to peaceful uses of atomic energy. The Act 204 was amended in 1993 by PNDC Law 308 mainly to enable it to create other institutes under the Commission.

    Head of Security Section

    Job Description
    •   Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Security Section.
    •   Maintain and improve the performance of the Security Section.
    •   Provide periodic reports on security of staff and properties of the Commission to Management.
    •   Instil discipline in the security service of the Commission and impart the right values to the staff.
    •   Ensure that the code of ethics of the Security is always adhered to by all.
    •   Supervise and monitor the performance of staff and take corrective measures.
    •   Draw appropriate security plans and advise Management.
    •   Provide periodic in-service training, coaching and guidance to staff to enhance their knowledge in security
    •   Any other job assigned by the Director-General

    Qualification Required & Experience

    •   Must not be below the rank of Major in the military or the equivalent in the Police Serve.
    •   Must have at least a good first degree.
    •   Must have a minimum of ten (10) years relevant working experience in the Military or Police Service.
    •   Must have excellent inter-personal, communication. writing and negotiation
    •   Must innovative to upgrade the Standard Of GAEC security.
    •   Must a citizen of Ghana and an ex-Military or Police Officer
    •   Must be more than 55 years.
    Tenure: All the positions are for five (5) years only but may be renewed for a second term

    Head, Legal Affairs

    Job Description

    • Provide legal advice to the Commission through the Director-General.
    • Advise on compliance with international nuclear legal instruments.
    • Assist the Attorney General’s Department to draft appropriate nuclear legislation when the need arises.
    • Provide legal risk analysis, advice on contract agreements, land issues, memorandum of understanding. etc.
    • Report to management on pending litigation and agreements.
    • Monitor cases in litigation and coordinate/monitor internal and external legal counsels and report status to Management.
    • Any other duties to be assigned by the Director-General

    Requirement/Skills

    • Must have LLM preferably in international law or related field.
    • Must be a professional Lawyer, called to the Bar and a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
    • Must have Knowledge in legal research techniques, contract drafting and interpretation.
    • Must have at least ten (10) years post-qualification experience in the private and/or public sector.
    • Must be conversant with UN conventions and other international Conventions in the Nuclear and related areas.
    • Must be good team player.
    • Must have excellent inter-personal and communication skills so as to be able to inspire staff.

    Director, BNARI

    Job Description

    • The Director is to work cbserv with the Director-General to implement policies of the institute.
    • Manage. coordinate and steer an nuclear research programmes. projects and activities throughout the nation.
    • Help develop expertise in the Of nuckar science and biotechnology.
    • Initiate new research proposals in accordance with the International Atomic Energy (IAEA’S) approved programme for Ghana and coordinate research. scientific, technical and commercial activities in the institute.
    • Enhance the application of nuclear scierwe and in the field of education and training for Socio-economic development of the country.
    • Set the priority goats of research activities within the institute line with the Commission’s policy.
    • Drive the research and tectmical operations of the institute. including Commercialisation af research output.

    Civil / Geological Engineer

    Job Description

    • Collect, analyse and interpret data
    • Access, use and analyse site information (such as radar images, aerial photographs, reports and geological maps) prior to site investigations
    • Plan, organise and undertake field work/site investigations and prepare reports
    • Provide advice and information to clients on a range of issues, including, for example, proposed use, subsidence and construction materials
    • Assess and minimise the risks of man-made and natural hazards in the environment
    • Ensuring that projects keep to budgets and timescales

    Requirement/Skills

    • Must possess a Master’s degree in Geotechnical, Civil, Geological, Earthquake Engineering or Engineering Seismology.

    • Must possess a good understanding Of site probabilistic assessment procedures and knowledge of nuclear power-related design aspects will be a benefit.

    Job Description

    • Plan. coordinate and supervise the Section’s activities in the field of organisation and management systems for all phases Of a nuclear power programme and
    • throughout the life cycle of a nuclear power plant.
    • Coordinate the provision of specialised technical input to technical cooperation projects related to nuclear management systems. provide technical guidance,

    Requirement/Skills

    • Must possess a Master’s degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.
    • Must possess a strong IT background
    • Must be very conversant with integrated management systems, information systems management, database development, enterprise resource planning, systems engineering, etc.
    • Must be conversant with various programming languages, be a good programmer and with excellent networking skills.
    • Must possess a strong analytical background, should be versatile and be able to work independently and coordinate the work processes of a diverse team of professionals.
    • Must possess proven experience in developing processes and procedures for complex engineering systerns and establishments.
    • Must have five (5) years minimum post-qualification
