    Treatment Plant Supervisor

    About This Role

    • To cover the requirements associated with the waste water and potable water treatment plants including safe monitoring, operating, maintenance/repairs and environmental protection to ensure quality and compliance.

    In This Role You Will
    Health, Safety and Environment

    • Deliver own prescribed outcomes and / or provide support services, by applying Newmont’s Health, Safety and Environment systems, policies and protocols.

    Repair and Maintenance

    • Supervise electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks for completion, arising out of schedules received from the maintenance planner.

    Operations

    • Ensure safe operation of pumps, motors, air compressors/blowers, and related machinery and equipment.
    • Ensure all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Ghana Water Company (GWC) /EPA and ISO regulations governing the wastewater treatment process, storm water and sludge management.

    Solutions Analysis

    • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults and provide guidance for repairs.
    • Diagnose whether to fix or replace machines and components.

    Work Scheduling and Allocation

    • Accomplish work objectives by determining daily work and prioritization schedule.
    • Coordinate with the maintenance planner and assign short-term tasks to other Technicians, as necessary.

    Training & Experience

    • Degree or relevant certification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
    • Knowledge of maintenance principles and industry standards.
    • Knowledge of the work management process.
    • Knowledge of planning and scheduling.
    • Minimum of 3 – 4 years’ experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
    • Good problem solving skills and ability to work independently and to take initiatives.
    • Sound communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.

    Working Conditions

    • To supervise operation and maintenance of potable water/wastewater treatment facilities.
    • Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations
    • Have the ability to descend and climb a maximum of 15 treads ladder to access system tanks and water condition.
    • While performing the duties of the job, employee will occasionally work in confined spaces.
    • The employee is required to work safely with hazardous materials such as chlorine and caustic soda.

    Excavator & Shovel Operator J1

    To operate Shovel at Newmont to deliver material to the appropriate destination in a safe and controlled manner.
    Essential Duties

    • Operate excavator machinery according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and standard task procedures (STP’s).
    • Assist in developing peers to perform quality excavating duties.
    • Monitor truck payload to minimize over-loading and under-loading. Remain accountable for the digging area of excavation to uphold the highest safety and productivity standards.
    • Report and escalate all accidents and incidents occurring in the shift immediately to the Dispatcher / Supervisor.
    • Perform other related activities, as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.
    • Perform pre-start checks on the excavators and log results onto the JIGSAW system.
    • Conduct post-shift inspections regarding hazards and defects identified and communicate these to Dispatch / Supervisor and the incoming operators for the smooth running of Operations.

    Training & Experience
    Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations)

    • Senior High School Certificate

    Additional Knowledge

    • Mineral Commission Operator Competency
    • License E
    • General knowledge in heavy equipment operation.
    • General understanding of mining operations

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience working with Code E Vehicles in a mining and heavy industry environment.
    • Experience in working within an active open pit mine is preferable

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    Position is in a very remote location. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.

    • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit in the cabin of a heavy mining equipment for extended periods, climb stairs, walk and stand.
    • Work Environment: The noise level in the field environment is minimal. Occasional exposure to noise, fumes, high temperature, moving machinery, hazardous materials, sharp edges, dust, pinch-points, vibration, slippery surfaces, extreme weather conditions.
    • Protective Equipment (PPE): Work requires mandatory PPE such as helmet, goggles, high visible clothing, safety harness, ear plugs and dust mask according to working conditions.
    • Incumbent has to work for extended hours.

    Mine Dispatcher II

    Purpose
    To dispatch fleet and optimize equipment utilization and usage to bring peak performance in mining operations by keeping real-time information on equipment, updating mining data in terms of stockpiles, dumps and road networks, liaising with Radio Maintenance and IT for Air Wave and Network management system, analyzing and providing data to short-term and long-term planning, Mine Operations, Mine Maintenance and Geology.


    Essential Duties

    • Coordinate and manage shift operations of the Open pit in the areas of drilling, loading, hauling and projects to optimize assets.
    • Assist the Dispatch Engineer with planning the biennial outlook of the Fleet Management (Dispatch) session.
    • Monitor the flow of information into and out of the FMS System, analyze data and channel this information towards short-term, medium-term and long-term planning.
    • Receive targets from Dispatch Engineer for tonnage, fleet performance and its lifespan to achieve defined organization profit targets
    • Support the training, implementation and operation of Fleet Management system utilizing both low and high precision GPS.
    • Optimize equipment utilization and usage to enable peak performance in Mine Engineering.
    • Implement control and mitigation actions through interventions to maintain and / or improve performance.
    • Identify potential system performance improvements and cost savings and communicate these to the Full Potential team and management.
    • Interact positively with other groups including Engineering, Process, Geology, Mine Operations, Maintenance and Human Resources to verify the accuracy of stated events and durations and correlate this to information captured in the FMS System.
    • Liaise with Mine Maintenance regarding the upkeep of the health and maintenance of the equipment.
    • Adhere strictly to internal Newmont health and safety standards

    Training & Experience
    Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations)

    • Bachelors’ Degree in Mine Engineering

    Experience

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in open pit mining.
    • At least one year previous supervisory experience in a Shift Supervisory position within large, open pit mining operations.
    • At least one year experience using Jigsaw FMS system in a similar environment

    Business Analyst II

    Purpose
    To oversee the Finacial anlysi, cost controls,financial modeling , and budgeting with an emphasis on processing , analysing and reporting financial transactions associated with business activity within designated operational or support area(s). To provide and establish day-to-day business advice as well as accounting procedures within guidelines and policies established vy the Newmont Accounting Policy

    Essential Duties
    Stakeholder Reporting and Business Advisory Service

    • Provide management with the appropriate information for various “what if” scenarios
    • Interact with department heads in the review of their cost center reports and facilitate their understanding of costs charged to their cost center
    • Serve as a liaison betwen accounting, business planning and assigned operating group
    • Attend assigned departmental meetings
    • Execute continous improvment initiatives or opportunities within the accounting areas

    Planning and Cost Control

    • Coordinate , compile and analyse planned and forcasted cost performance and financial results from key stakeholders for global and external stakeholder reporting
    • Resolve disputed cost center charges prior to the close
    • Provide support in the control over the maintenance of cost by responsibility , activity , cost center, element and other performance indicators
    • Support the AFE and PDD preparation for capital expenditures

    Financial Analysis

    • Review and analyse monthly financial reports to identify potential cost contrl issues
    • Compile the monthly varaiance analysis of the operations, looking at budget versus, forcasts and previous plan etc. for site and corporate reporting purposes
    • implement metrics and monitor results for areas of responsibillities and employees to track progress towards company and departmental goals

    Financial Modeling

    • Build financial models or other driver-based planned functionality for various departments, including but not limited to support areas, Finance and Treasury schedules during the yearly budget and quartely forecasts.

    System Integration

    • Maintain a working knowlege of soft applications , accounting issues, and processes so that information is effectively and easily gathered with a high degree of accuracy

    Training & Experience
    Fomal Qualification

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Chartered/Certified Accountant qualification is an advantage
    • Knowledge of U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP)
    • Knowledge of costing and budgetting concepts and techniques
    • Familiar with Actvity Base Costing (ABC-Model)

    Experience

    • Between 4-7 years of relevant accounting experience , or 7 yearss of combination of education and experience in fainancial modeling, cost control and economic analysi, or similar.
    • Mining, Construction ,utilities or other heavy industry experieince is preferred
    • Experience in SAP and Business Planning Consolidation (BPC ) is preferred
    • Must have experience with Computer-based accounting system
    • Demonstrated people management experience and the ability to work with internal and extermnal partners and experieince with continous improvement programs and integrated systems
