    Program Analyst

    The Program Analyst would provide cross-cutting administrative, operational, and technical support across all three elements of the program.  The Program Analyst will report directly to the KIC Program Lead, coordinating with the rest of the DAI team and the Kosmos Energy Ghana (KEG) team as appropriate. This is a full-time position based in the KIC Incubator in Accra.

    This is a year-long, full-time position. Based on performance review and work planning to take place in December, the position can be renewed for the following year.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support in administrative and operational aspects of execution of the KIC-Ghana program
      • Assist in scheduling meetings with entrepreneurs, KIC coaches, and external parties as requested
      • Provide administrative support to the KIC Incubator space, including coordination of supplies, front desk duties, arranging travel, maintenance needs, and other duties
      • Support the planning and implementation of training sessions for entrepreneurs in the AgriTech Challenge and in the Incubator
      • Support planning and execution of large events for the AgriTech Challenge, such as pitch days and AgriTech Exchange
    • Provide technical support to KIC coaches and Team Lead on program deliverables and milestones
      • Under the supervision of the DAI Team Lead, support the drafting of reports for the client about ongoing project progress, activity proposals, and other topics as needed
      • Assist in quarterly data collection and analysis for monitoring and evaluation of the program
    • Under the supervision of the DAI Program Manager and in coordination with DAI home office staff, manage quarterly seed funding disbursements to start up teams
      • Ensure compliance with the KIC investment agreement’s reporting and documentation requirements
      • Coordinate wire payments between local bank account and start-up bank accounts according to pre-determined schedule
      • Provide regular updates and reports on spending to client as requested
      • Provide administrative support to any local sub-contractors that require financial reimbursement
    • Management of online incubation management platform, including user management, event scheduling, and content creation

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum 2 years of professional work experience
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Dynamic team player with ability to work collaboratively
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environment
    • Experience working with international organizations on program management and/or operations preferred
    • Experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis preferred
    • Fluent in written and spoken English

    Agriculture and Technology (Agritech) Specialist

    In 2020, KIC will expand from its center in Accra to include a regional hub in Kumasi in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. The Agritech Specialist will provide technical expertise to the project locally and will report to the Regional Program Manager.

    This is a year-long, full-time position. Based on performance review and work planning to take place in December, the position can be renewed for the following year.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Serve as the primary coach and mentor to finalists of the AgriTech Challenge who received an invitation to the incubator in Kumasi, guiding them through a structured program as they enter their first year of operations
      • Ensure program alignment with KIC Accra. Coordinate technical training delivery with Kumasi Hive
      • Identify and coordinate external resources—in areas such as marketing, legal, HR, accounting–when needed to supplement the knowledge already within the KIC team
      • Manage annual external resources budget by coordinating volunteer and paid experts in Kumasi
      • Set KPIs and goals with the startups and monitor their progress and performance, and report data as needed to DAI and Kosmos Energy, including quarterly status reports
    • Provide technical advisory support on all matters related to agriculture and technology for all KIC components in Kumasi, including the AgriTech Challenge and the Business Booster
    • Provide quality assurance, quality control, and technical guidance over inputs from external consultants or partner entities
    • Synthesize and develop required technical reports on the progress of on-going KIC programs and deliver presentations
    • Serve as the key technical liaison with local implementing partners and be available to support the local implementing partners with any technical assistance required in a timely and responsive manner
    • Other duties as required by KIC Regional Program Manager or Team Lead
    • Support in ensuring proper completion of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and reporting internally and for the client as per the work scope of the program. Coordinate with DAI Home Office to create reports for the client as requested

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree and minimum 8 years of professional work experience OR Master's degree and minimum 5 years of professional work experience
    • Extensive experience in and passion for agriculture and technology, and the intersection of the two in Ghana
    • Deep networks in the Ghanaian agriculture space
    • Strong organizational and communication skills with great attention to detail

    Regional Program Manager

    The Regional Program Manager will be the lead for the program in Kumasi and will report to the National Program Manager for KIC in Accra. S/he will manage the local elements of the program, support in national recruitment strategy, and lead coordination with Kumasi Hive, the local implementing partner, where the regional program will be based.

    This is a year-long, full-time position. Based on performance review and work planning to take place in December, the position can be renewed for the following year.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure high quality of execution, a good experience for all participants, and high level of performance of Kumasi-based team
    • Responsible for leading implementation of the first regional hub of the KIC program in Kumasi
    • Program planning in coordination with the Accra-based KIC team and Kumasi Hive team. Draft work plans and other documentation as needed.
    • Development of external stakeholder engagement strategy focusing on leveraging program and building sustainability locally
    • Under the supervision of the DAI Team Lead, draft reports for the client about ongoing project progress, activity proposals, and other topics as needed
    • Manage overall program timeline and implementation in coordination with Accra-based elements of the program
    • Oversee incubation services offered to winners of the AgriTech Challenge
    • Program planning in coordination with the Accra-based KIC team and Kumasi Hive team. Draft work plans and other documentation as needed.
    • Providing coaching services and technical advice to entrepreneurs for implementing business best practices
    • Manage day-to-day operational support to Incubator with focus on management of work plan in partnership with Kumasi Hive
    • Manage delivery of training modules to entrepreneurs as determined by demand and approved by Program Manager. Ensure compliance with Accra-based Incubator.
    • Direct support for event planning and logistics as determined by the work plan under DAI program
    • Manage elements of the KIC Business Booster program that are implemented in Kumasi, working closely with KIC Accra.
    • Provide oversight in ensuring proper completion of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and reporting internally and for the client as per the work scope of the program. Coordinate with DAI Home Office to create reports for the client.
    • Facilitate meetings and ensure follow up as needed with both external stakeholders and the client

    Access to Finance Specialist

    The KIC Access to Finance (A2F) Specialist will lead the design of the program's approach to A2F, to begin with assessing the needs of KIC entrepreneurs and scoping the relevant national and international ecosystems. The A2F Specialist will bring best practices, lessons learned, and the latest insights to guide the execution of the activities and maximize results. The A2F Specialist will engage with external financiers and conduct matchmaking to facilitate connections with KIC companies. He/She will report directly to the KIC Program Manager, coordinating with the rest of the DAI team and the Kosmos Energy Ghana (KEG) team as appropriate.

    This is a year-long, full-time position. Based on performance review and work planning to take place in December, the position can be renewed for the following year.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Access to Finance (A2F) Specialist will be expected to:

    • Lead scoping of the Ghanaian ecosystem for opportunities to leverage external stakeholders and financiers on behalf of KIC. In this continuing and dynamic scoping effort, the A2F expert will liaise with investment funds, banks, microfinance institutions, impact or angel investors, diaspora groups, charitable organizations, and large private sector actors. For investment partners, he/she will seek to understand the types of investments and/or client groups that the partner is interested in growing, overall portfolio strategy, and minimum return on investment expectations. For banking partners, he/she will assess the minimum requirements for lending to new client groups and proactively map the most promising sources of capital for grantees. He/she will look at bringing on capital partners and brokering relationships to identify innovative mechanisms that improve access to finance.
    • Determine the best approach and mechanisms for connecting KIC companies to funding, which may include establishing a fund that draws in local and international financiers. The initial scoping is critical to ensure that the fund is needed, fits the local context, has strong external participation, and is sustainable.
    • Implement and manage the A2F component of the program in whatever form it ultimately takes. Advise KIC on long-term management strategy for the component/fund.
    • Develop A2F capacity building program for KIC companies, to include trainings and one-on-one coaching delivered by A2F Specialist and external experts
    • Serve as the go-to resource for connecting KIC companies to funding opportunities and investors; managing partnerships with financial institutions; advising on overall A2F strategy for KIC; providing trainings and one-on-one coaching to companies regarding financial management and fundraising strategy.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree and minimum 8 years of professional work experience OR Master's degree and minimum 5 years of professional work experience.
    • Experience working with entrepreneurs and financiers in Ghana or similar market
    • Deep understanding of the Ghanaian financial landscape, as well as an understanding of the broader African and global arenas.
    • Personal network in the A2F field in Ghana, especially within commercial banks, equity investors, impact investors, and multilateral institutions.
    • Proven experience raising funds for own company or other institutions.
    • Experience working to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
    • Experience consulting for or mentoring entrepreneurs
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

    Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist

    The M&E Specialist will lead monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts across KIC programs. S/he will manage the implementation of ongoing monitoring and evaluation efforts, while also recommending improvements and changes as needed. S/he will contribute to overall strategy development as KIC seeks to capture its direct and indirect impact in Ghana. S/he will lead data collection, analysis, and reporting in collaboration with KIC Accra, KIC Kumasi, and DAI home office staff. S/he will report directly to the Team Lead in Accra.

    This is a year-long, full-time position. Based on performance review and work planning to take place in December, the position can be renewed for the following year.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the implementation of the M&E plan across the three core programs and two regional locations of KIC.
      • Refine and improve M&E methodology, tools, and procedures for systematic data collection and analysis of program indicators
      • Expand KIC’s ability to measure the social impact of its programs in line with client objectives
      • Develop surveys and enforce survey administration protocols to assess the impact of training of entrepreneurs
      • Contribute to overall program strategy development and setting of targets. Provide input on client deliverables and requests as needed.
    • Under supervision of the Program Manager and in coordination with the DAI home office, lead development of bi-annual M&E reports for submission to the client
      • Guide, supervise, and otherwise ensure the collection, analysis, and use of baseline and other data on an on-going basis to inform KIC decision-making
      • Conduct data quality and verification checks in the field as needed. Ground truth data with staff, subcontractors, partners, and beneficiaries
      • Ensure that data entries are valid, complete, and accurate and meet submission deadlines. Manage internal database and enforce quality checks.
    • Improve internal knowledge management and learning opportunities within KIC
      • Train colleagues to ensure they have full understanding of KIC’s M&E plan and know how to follow proper project M&E policies and procedures
      • Train KIC entrepreneurs and start-ups on M&E procedures and expectations
      • Coordinate and develop good working relationships with KIC team members, partners, client and key stakeholders to ensure high-quality data collection across program
      • Develop qualitative case studies and success stories of start-ups within KIC’s portfolio

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree and minimum 5 years of professional experience OR Master's degree and minimum 3 years of professional experience
    • Experience working with international organizations on monitoring and evaluation
    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
    • Experience working to promote youth entrepreneurship, innovation, and/or agriculture preferred
    • Ability to travel to monitor KIC businesses in the field on a quarterly basis
    • Fluent in written and spoken English
