The Embassy of the United States of America in Accra is the diplomatic mission of the United States in Ghana. It is the focal point for events relating to the United States held in Ghana.
Duties
Under the direction of the Financial Management Specialist, the incumbent will prepare the DS and ICASS DS budgets, assists in the maintenance of accounting records for post held allotments. Responsible for the verification and processing of all post held allotment accounting data into the Momentum Regional Financial Management System (RFMS). Also responsible for verifying and assigning correct fiscal data to post held allotment vouchers prior to completion by the Financial Management Center(FMC) vouchering unit. Responsible for processing journal vouchers where needed and other work incident to the maintenance of all post held accounts.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in financial accounting, bookkeeping or accounting technician work is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: A good basic knowledge of budgets, standardized bookkeeping and accounting procedures, processes and format and use of accounting documents (such as obligations, invoices and disbursements) to maintain and reconcile records in the accounting systems.
Education Requirements:
Completion of two (2) years of college studies in Accounting or Business Management is required.

LANGUAGE:
Good working knowledge of the written and spoken language. Job holder should be able to read and understand, for example, regulations, instructions and related material concerning the field of work, and to prepare correspondence and standardized reports. Job holder should be able to communicate effectively with staff and members of the public in the language. (Language proficiency may be tested.)

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
