    Crane Maintenance Supervisor M/F

    Contract duration: 1 year (renewable)

    Job description

    SPIE Oil and Gas is currently looking for an Crane Maintenance Supervisor to join its work force in Ghana.

    MAIN PURPOSE:

    The Crane Maintenance Supervisor’s main purpose is to carry out maintenance and corrective activities on an FPSO offshore Ghana, under the direction of the Contract Focal Point, Project Engineers and Client Representatives

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Carry out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and periodic inspections on all pedestal, overhead and davit cranes, lifting equipment and accessories, riser handling systems and marine handling systems (annual and five-yearly maintenance) and such other equipment as may be agreed with the client in accordance with maintenance service contracts, work procedures and Company guidance on the FPSO.
    • Carry out offshore survey work scopes for future preventative maintenance or corrective maintenance planning and work preparation, including provision of detailed reports with supporting equipment / materials requirements for onshore support teams to plan accordingly.
    • The incumbent is to ensure that the project work pack contains all the relevant instructions, procedures, drawings etc to enable the activity to be completed in conjunction with the organisation’s safe working practices.
    • Responsible for completion of detailed daily reports, completing and submitting timesheets in accordance with Company procedures and incident forms as and when required.
    • Liaise with Client’s offshore / onshore personnel to gain the necessary work permits and organise work programmes.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication with client personnel to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.
    • Carry out effective and constructive tool box talks with the work scope team members. The incumbent is to ensure that objectives are explained in sufficient detail and in a manner and at a level and pace appropriate to all the relevant individuals they are working with.
    • Ensure that project objectives are updated regularly with Team Members to take into account individual, team and organisational changes.
    • Ensure that work methods and activities optimise the use of available material, capital and personnel.
    • Where legal requirements and organisational/development objectives conflict, the problem is identified and advice is sought from the appropriate personnel.
    • The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that any subordinates are helped to perform their jobs effectively and have the learning opportunities through which their abilities and potential can be developed.

    Profile

    GENERAL:

    The above responsibilities are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the incumbent may be called upon to carry out such other appropriate alternative or additional duties as may be required which are within their capability and competence.

    HSEQ:

    It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in HSEQ compliance and improvement initiatives. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems to their Line Manager.

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    The employee will have as a minimum:

    • Experience working within the Offshore Industry.
    • Previous knowledge and experience of mechanical systems and components
    • Good communication skills.
    • Time served experience with Cranes / Heavy Plant or similar equipment.
    • Ability to demonstrate first class safety awareness.
    • Proactive Team Player.
    • Flexible and adaptable to undertake challenges.
    • Reside in Ghana.
    • Relevant trade discipline qualifications/Ghana vocational qualifications.

    The following is also desirable:

    • Knowledge of hydraulic maintenance / repair / troubleshooting techniques.
    • Previous supervisory experience

    Candidate criteria

    • Minimum level of experience required
    • 6 years or more
    • Required authorisations
    • Experience working within the Offshore Industry
    • Previous knowledge and experience of mechanical systems and components
    • Time served experience with Cranes / Heavy Plant or similar equipment
    • Must be a Ghanian
    • Reside in Ghana

    Languages

    English (D-Full professional proficiency)
