Director of Pharmacy at Tamale Teaching Hospital

To have overall responsibility for the management of medicines and other pharmaceutical products and ensure the maintenance of pharmaceutical standards through monitoring, teaching, research, policy development and implementation within the hospital

Functions

•  Provide pharmaceutical advice to the Chief Executive
•  Be responsible for the provision of good quality pharmaceutical services in the hospital aimed at maintaining quality and avoiding stock outs
•  Submit periodic and timely reports on pharmaceutical activities within the hospital to the Chief Executive
•  Ensure the establishment and effective functioning of Medicines and Therapeutic committee in the hospital
•  Manage and motivate pharmaceutical staff
•  Undertake any other responsibility assigned by the Chief Executive

Qualification Required & Experience

The person must be a Senior Pharmacist and have the following:

•  Postgraduate qualification in Pharmacy and a fellow of a relevant postgraduate college
•  Be a duly registered Pharmacist and have a minimum of 10 years working experience, of which 5 should be at the level of at the senior management level
•  Evidence of leadership and continuing professional development and training in Health management
•  A broad knowledge base and experiences on standards of pharmaceutical care, SOPs and guidelines
