About the job
We are currently looking for a financial analyst to join our team. In this role, you will ensure consistent management of all budgets through "management" of the contract management process, development of account specific standards, documentation, and negotiations. You will be the primary interface for our clients regarding budget issues. 

Key Accountabilities: 

• Works closely with Finance to review payment terms, billing status, and other financial aspects of projects during the preparation, submission, and revision of the Change in Scope documentation. 
• Serve as primary client contact during the negotiation phase 
• Maintains tracking of Changes in Scope in Contract Database. 
• On-going interface with clients regarding budget issues during the lifetime of a project 
• Establish and maintain direct client contact 
• Create, negotiate and finalize budgets and contractual documents, including Start-up Agreements, Work Orders and Change Orders 
• Development of account specific standards for contracts, including presentation of budget, payment terms, standard contract language, etc., and discussion/negotiation with client as appropriate 
• On-going proactive involvement with project management in review of project status, including review of contractual status to ensure compliance with contractual terms and milestones and identification of changes in scope in contracts 
• Communicate with Finance team on ongoing budget changes and provide finance system load ready budget tools in accordance with relevant policies and procedures 
• Ensure information relating to contractual documents are processed into and maintained in relevant databases 
• Understanding of financial accruals, billing, and/or cost accounting. 
• Thorough knowledge of proposal and contracts process. Ability to maintain long-range projects while managing daily details with a high degree of accuracy. 
• May have some Line Management responsibilities, including: performance management and staff development, training / mentoring, workflow management 

Skills: 

• Experience in contract management, proposal development or related field 
• Knowledge of clinical trials and/or industry experience – preferred 
• Knowledge of ICH/GCP in the provision of clinical trials – preferred 
• Excellent negotiation skills 
• Highly organized with excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Good numeracy skills 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant software (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Databases) 
• Fluent in English, oral and written 

Education: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management or related field and 3-4 years of direct experience in budget/proposal development/contract development/finance or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
