    Grant Accountant - GI WASH Project

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure all relevant information relating to the grant is available on timely basis and also grant documents from proposal to the final stage are properly filed. ( Proposals, grant agreement, amendments, monthly/quarterly reports and fixed assets listing etc)
    • Ensure submission of timely, complete and accurate finance reporting in compliance with GAAP, WVI and Donor requirements.
    • Lead in identifying requirements and coordinating the preparation of grant budget and implement revisions as necessary and monitor actual grant expenditure against approved donor line items.
    • Ensure the implementation of financial procedures that comply with WVI finance policies and all Regulations Governing the Grant Award.
    • Assist internal and external audit staff to facilitate annual financial audit and ensure that the minimum “Acceptable audit rating” according to World Vision Partnership requirements is reached and ensure timely implementation of financial audit recommendations.
    • Assess financial and accounting capacity of sub-grantees; train sub-grantee finance/accounting staff and non accounting staff to ensure there is appropriate capacity in such offices to comply with accounting standards and all grant/donor requirements and provide technical support to project implementing teams
    • Provide leadership and supervision to Finance team at projects and build capacity of team to deliver on Finance objectives for the project

    Other Competencies/Attributes

    • Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities.
    • Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and monthly Chapel services.
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

    The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

    • Minimum Educational level required: Degree in Accounting or Chartered Accountant.
    • Technical Training qualifications required: Good working knowledge in accounting software and accounting principles. Knowledge of and experience with government grants regulations and financial reporting requirements preferred. Advanced knowledge in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint.

    Experience:

    • 3 years in similar position.

    Other: Good analytical skills.

    Working Environment / Conditions

    • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
    • Travel: 10% Domestic travel is required.
