Head, IT Operations and Projects at TXT Ghana

Brief:

• The Head of IT Operations and Projects shall be responsible for the overall management of IT Operations and Projects, through modern applications, innovation, and a professional dynamic team, while liaising with relevant stakeholders in an effectively secured manner to ultimately increase end-user satisfaction levels in line with regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective and appropriate strategies to deliver specific IT objectives and ensure IT Services meet their internal and external KPIs.
• Lead the development and implementation processes for the company's IT systems and resources.
• Plan, organize, and direct the completion of specific IT-related projects for the company while ensuring these projects are on time, on budget, and within scope.
• Develop in consultation with other senior management the IT strategy and governance framework of the company.
• Direct the implementation of IT strategy, infrastructure, procurement, procedures, and regulatory requirements and standards.
• Develop the periodic IT business plan and operational budget to deliver agreed service levels.
• Evaluate and recommend vendor contracts for hardware, software, and technology-related services as needed.
• Maintain, review, and upgrade as needed the disaster recovery plan for the company’s information recovery services.
• Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss.
• Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.
• Analyze IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.
• Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information and facilitate IT security audits or investigations.
• Develop, effectively manage, and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers as well as establish SLAs and OLAs with them to provide the best value to the business.

Work Experience, Education & Certification

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. A Master's degree will be an advantage
• 7-10 years of related experience; 5 of which should be in a management position and 3 in project management.
• Should have at least one of the security certifications- Ethical Hacking, CISM, CISA, CRISC, etc.
• Hands-on programming languages and frameworks such as PHP, Laravel, Angular, JavaScript, My SQL, NodeJS, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Broad knowledge of current Telecom value-added services, platform integrations, communication protocols, operating systems, virtual technologies, and programming.
• Knowledge of IT Service Delivery and Governance Skills – ITIL Certification is an added advantage
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver timely and on budget.
• Ability to communicate technical matters effectively with people of varying skills and backgrounds.
• Ability to effectively lead, manage and develop a team to achieve success.
• Ability to plan and manage approved IT budgets and resources.
• Ability to stay up to date on changing trends in their industry and technology.
• Ability to influence and motivate work-groups to achieve targets.
• Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
• Ability to take initiative and think outside the box.
