Laboratory Lead at 3M&C Ghana Ltd

Job Summary

• We are looking for a highly-organized and level-headed laboratory lead to ensure that all lab operations run smoothly by scheduling staff, ordering supplies, maintaining health and safety protocols, and training lab assistants.
• Job Description/Requirements

Primary Functions:

• Oversees, plans and manages the efficient and effective daily operation, quality of services of the administrative and technical activities of the Department
• Observes Lab operations and ensures compliance with all laws and regulations in Ghana.
• Manages and directs the Department’s financial functions like preparing monthly budgets, managing and reviewing accounts including reconciling monthly statements and preparing projections for the Department as well as tracking all spending for Department
• Responsible for marketing and revenue generation for the Department
• Evaluates personnel in accordance with performance standards in histology, biochemistry, microbiology, hematology and serology
• Addresses complaints regarding Clinical Laboratory functions and works with the Technical Laboratory Manager to resolve the complaints
• Responsible for the preparation of reports and other statistical data for the Laboratory as requested and coordinating improvements in Clinical Laboratory reporting systems
• Provides lab orientation to new Laboratory Staff, train them on the policies of the Laboratory and the operation of a variety of software packages used
• Coordinate Annual Performance Review process with Technical Laboratory Manager to ensure timely completion.
• Other duties as assigned by the CEO to meet the goal of providing excellent healthcare.

Essential Functions/ Physical Requirements:

• Minimum qualification of BSc in Biomedical Science or related sciences.
• Must be able to speak English clearly and fluently
• Must be able to read and interpret clinical data
• Must be able to work for long hours
• Must be mobility sufficient to provide care to a variety of patients at an adequate pace.
• Must have manual dexterity sufficient to perform laboratory procedures usually performed
