Managing Director at Dragnet Solutions Limited

The Managing Director shall be responsible for:

•  Providing the strategic direction of the company
• Developing and implementing an innovative and ambitious Rice Production strategy with a clear focus on evidence-based research, advisory work, and scaling up of operations.
• Overseeing quality of implementation (time, budget, and deliverables) of Rice production and its by products across the various demarcated zones of the company.
•  Resource mobilization and relationship management with main partners, including securing funding at a global (multi-country) level for the company.
•  Positioning the business as a global player in the Agriculture sector in the international arena and Ghana.
•  Ensuring outstanding results and a high level of quality rice production, by-products, as well as the mechanization centers and the farms.
• Overseeing the performance and composition of zonal coordinators as well as general staff and the development of their potential.
• Monitoring and steering the financial performance of the company.
•  Supervising international and local partnership collaborations.
• Ensuring coherence and proper integration between Thailand partners and the Ghanaian partners.

Qualifications and Selection Criteria:

•  A holder of a Bachelor/Masters/PhD degree in Agriculture and other related disciplines, Food Sciences, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration. Must be equipped with managerial skills and a proven work experience of at least 10 - 15 years at a senior position in the public or private sector.
• At least 10 - 15 years’ experience in farming and specifically rice production.
• Extremely knowledgeable in the rice production process from land preparation to seedling, to paddy processing, drying, cleaning, de-husking, polishing, grading, storage, packaging, transportation, and distribution.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a successful annual action plan and budget, administrative and financial procedure manuals as well as strategic plans.
•  Deep understanding of financial strategies and finance-related performance metrics.
• Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship development.
• Passion for the company's mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of Ghanaians through local rice production.
• Excellent knowledge of the current thinking in Agriculture.
•  Significant experience and proven track record of developing and executing Agriculture initiatives in a competitive context.
•  Strong network and visibility with main donors and partners relevant to the business and the Agriculture sector, with entrepreneurial skills including a proven track record in mobilizing financial resources.
•  Deep understanding of working environment of companies working with rural farmers.
• Exemplary leadership skills and extensive experience in creating and leading high-performance teams.
•  Fluent oral and written communication in English. Fluency in Thai will be an added advantage
