Job Description

• This position aims to diagnose and maintain machinery and equipment according to the technical specifications and sound engineering practices.
• This would incorporate the maintenance and repair of all electrical (heavy and light current) and mechanical equipment and would support the overall objective of plant availability and production goals.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Investigate, diagnose, and perform trade-related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to the maintenance requirements, standards, and specifications
• Perform daily/ weekly/ monthly inspections in accordance with the Maintenance Plan, report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the management and initiate/perform necessary repairs.
• Develop, modify, construct and install all types of trade-related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment
• Ensure that all installations and equipment are safe and in good working order after task completion
• Continuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency to improve trade-specific equipment and systems
• Consult with production teams on maintenance activities that effects production
• Train site staff on operational guidelines to reduce equipment failures
• Support the achievement of engineering availability and production performance levels
• Perform all Preventative maintenance schedules on time
• Perform condition monitoring on plant equipment, acting decisively on any findings
• Perform breakdown maintenance, including standby and call-out duties
• Ensure that maintenance-related information is recorded and reported to the relevant office to support the maintenance of the planned/asset maintenance system
• Identify and report the need for equipment spares and assist in obtaining quotations for such
• Manage any contractors allocated to assist on-site work, ensuring their equipment is compliant and they follow all related policies and procedures
• Support and comply with all aspects of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or alternatives
• Ensure adherence to engineering quality standards in the maintenance of equipment and machinery
• Ensure compliance with Company and Client Health and Safety procedures and requirements
• Identify hazards and risks while performing daily tasks and employ adequate control measures to ensure all work is performed safely. All work performed needs to have an associated continuous risk assessment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Secondary School completion or equivalent qualification
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering / Trade Test (Millwright)
• Must have 3 years of experience as a Millwright
