    Optical Transport Planning Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Translate functional requirements from the business in terms of connectivity into technical specifications in terms of Optical transport systems.
    • Develop detailed planning guidelines for optical (Passive and active) network planning and implementation.
    • Provide high-level/detailed design of optical systems/services to provide required capacity, quality and redundancy for mobile and fixed networks.
    • Manage self.
    • Engagement of government agencies, service providers and other stakeholders for all permitting, relocations, and coordination relating to the optical network.
    • Perform costing for Optical network solutions and projects.
    • Provides high-level, review of the detailed design of optical systems, and services to provide the desired network capacity and performance.
    • Interface with vendors on all optical transport-related issues
    • Produce and maintain a 5-Year Optical Transmission Network Plan (incl. network design, CAPEX forecast, and procurement timeline) in line with the company strategy for Radio, Core and Enterprise. This plan must be aligned with capacity, quality and redundancy targets.
    • Maintain high capacity and quality optical network (Active and Passive) as per agreed KPIs.
    • Provide, optimize and manage DCN plan for the optical network for both mobile and fixed.
    • Design, implement and optimize synchronization plan for the transmission network.
    • Continuous engagement of Strategic Partners, Internal customers, Vendors and Contractors
    • Conducting pilot studies & trials with Partners and Contractors for new innovations
    • Creating synergy among various partners, vendors and contractors.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

    • Ensure optical transport-related projects are delivered within agreed timelines
    • Update planning database monthly and review planning guidelines annually.
    • Deliver nominal plans for all requests from business units within agreed timelines.
    • Timely availability of regulatory reports and stakeholder engagement.

     

    Required Qualification and Experience

    • Have a degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent qualifications
    • A minimum of 5 years experience in optical planning and strategy with 2 years experience in managing or leading teams
    • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
    • Highly proficient with DWDM/CWDM, OTN, PON and SDH network design & operations.
    • Advanced use of Google Earth, Nexius and net Terrain OSP planning tools.
    • Development of OSP planning/design documentation, plans and specification assembly.
    • Conversant with ITU recommendations relevant to fibre network design.
    • Highly Proficient in the use of DWDM planning tools, OTDR and general fibre maintenance tools
    • CCNA or equivalent IP certification is a plus.

    Internal Communications Specialist

    Description

    • The successful candidate will join our team as a Specialist for Internal Communication in the Human Resource Department.
    • He will report to the HR Business Partner (Non-Commercial Function) and will be responsible for developing an understanding of the company’s goals and values and building commitment to success.
    • He will advise on effective internal communications and leadership in managing internal change communications by working with appropriate teams.
    • The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase employee awareness, managing internal communication channels, and keeping employees informed and engaged.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement on an ongoing basis, a companywide internal & change communications strategy that meets organizational objectives and aligns with the overall business strategy.
    • Develop an understanding of the company’s goals and values, among employees and build commitment to success.
    • Gather and disseminate timely information to employees.
    • Liaise with the Brand and Marketing Communications team to ensure the delivery of 360-degree Integrated Communications that resonates, informs, and empowers employees to be brand ambassadors

    • Devise strategies and produce content to help align the organization's goals with the engagement of members or employees.
    • Administer and ensure job satisfaction among employees by administering surveys and polls.

    Required Qualification and Experience

    • First degree in Human Resources, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Social Sciences, or any other related field
    • A member of an HR or Communications professional body will be an added advantage
    • Minimum of three (3) years experience in a similar role or in corporate communications, public relations, etc.
    • An extensive network with media practitioners and journalists will be an advantage

    Consumer Solutions Architect

    Description

    • The successful candidate will join our team as an Architect for Customer Solutions in the IT Department.
    • (S)He will report to the Head, Business and Service Support and will be responsible for understanding consumer change needs and assessing the business impact of those changes.
    • (S)He will also be responsible for capturing, analyzing, and documenting requirements and supporting the communication and delivery of those requirements with relevant stakeholders.
    • The Consumer Solutions Architect (CSA) will be responsible for overall consumer-facing application development, Projects, Products & Promotions across all key IT platforms.
    • The successful candidate will also be responsible for translating the requirements into the architecture for the required solution and describing it through the set of design artefacts.
    • (S)He will also ensure all third-party contractual obligations are met.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Analyze and report on daily software issues.
    • Liaise with users on software issues and refer critical issues to the head of CSS.
    • Be involved in programming and reporting especially trade field applications.
    • Be up to date on software-hardware integrations and change management.
    • Collate technical IT reports from the CSS team.

    • They will work closely with commercials and Revenue Assurance Customer care, Go-to-Market, and other internal areas, creating winning proposals and successfully delivering within budget and time.
    • The CSA will be responsible for preparing appropriate software architecture documentation based on the requirements and design elements contained in a system specification and ensuring alignment with the regional system architecture.
    • The CSA will be responsible for ensuring the overall integrity of the proposed software architecture.
    • The CSA will deeply understand AirtelTigo support processes to ensure the most beneficial solution is implemented in the operations.
    • The CSA ensure fact-based compliance of the business requirements, reporting project status, completion and success based on appropriate business KPIs.
    • The SA will document and ensure all business requests and every solution in addition to the respective codes are well documented for future use.
    • The (SA) will be responsible for coordinating efforts with Local Software Architects to maximize benefits and synergies.


    Required Qualification and Experience

    • A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with emphasis in Computer Science or related field (System Engineer, IS Engineer, Information Systems)
    • Engineer, IT Engineer, Network Systems Engineer)
    • Minimum 3 years experience implementing similar solutions
    • Minimum 5 years experience working in the IT industry (Telcos preferably)
    • Strong understanding of project management principles
