    Field Associate Manager

    What you will be doing:

    • Every year, Pula runs a series of operational activities including farmer sensitization campaigns, training of clients and crop cut experiments (a survey designed to measure the yield of different crops).
    • Pula is seeking the services of an experienced Field Associate Manager in Ghana who will be responsible for overseeing and executing all the operational activities within the country, The ideal candidate learns quickly, is results driven, has experience managing teams and field operations projects, project management, and shifting comfortably between strategy and execution.

    Job Description:

    • Data collection and data management: that is, refining the study design and survey instruments, overseeing and monitoring data collection exercises using the Business Intelligence dashboard and assisting with data quality queries.
    • Participate in field staff recruitment; select, assign, coach, counsel and discipline employees.
    • Management of Senior Field Coordinators and Field Coordinators.
    • Conducting training for field staff i.e. enumerators, Senior Field Coordinators and Field Coordinators.
    • Conducting clients training, mobilization/workshops.
    • Management and support for crop cut exercises.
    • Management and support for yield index insurance pay-outs, if necessary.
    • Coordination with client field staff and insurance auditors.
    • Escalating issues experienced in the field.
    • Help to go to the field to diagnose issues when required.
    • Prepare projects’ budgets, recordkeeping for expenses and reconciliation against the budget for each project.
    • Help with internal data audits when required.
    • Handling and resolving customer complaints from farmers and stakeholders as needed.
    • Assisting in product launches when required.
    • Identify good performers, and transparently and honestly report on non-performing staff.
    • Clear and consistent communication up and down the reporting lines.
    • Any other duties as requested by management

    Who you are:

    Required Qualifications

    • At least a BSc degree in Project Management, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness or a degree in Business/ Management related field.
    • At least 3 years of work experience working with clients, project teams, farmers, field teams and agro-dealers.
    • Experience in data collection and data management.
    • Skills to interact with clients, farmers, field teams and agro-dealers.
    • Ability to work independently in a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional, and multicultural environment
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Able to work and communicate in English and local dialect
    • Intermediate Spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets) skills is an added advantage

    • Our team is deeply field based. We hire from the areas that we are working, rather than focusing on hiring only from capital cities or major metropolitan areas.
    • The individuals best suited for these positions are those who are comfortable speaking in relevant local languages and moving around rural areas.
    • Everyone needs to be able to work “on the go”: staff are expected to call into conference calls multiple times a week, and to submit communications on email and other mediums throughout the week. While it is difficult to keep a phone and other devices charged while working in rural areas, the best employees plan their movements well enough to ensure being in contact at the right times.

    Call Centre Agent

    About the Role

    • Pula is seeking experienced, motivated and energetic personnel to fill in a Vacant position of Support desk Agent to be based in Ghana
    • This is a challenging role and requires a results-oriented person with a positive attitude, excellent organization and communication skills.
    • The candidate will be required to perform the following duties:

    What you will be doing:

    • Make 80+ outbound calls everyday.
    • Participate in Weekly calls with HQ and provide timely updates and priorities.
    • Build relationships with staff and clients.
    • Update task tracking using Google Documents, Whatsapp and other Software as requested.
    • Submit daily and weekly reports and KPIs as requested.
    • Lead Implementation of surveys.
    • Support with any challenges related to registration and claims processing.
    • Any other duties assigned from time to time.

    Who you are:

    Required Qualifications, knowledge and competencies.

    • Diploma/Degree in Customer Engagement, Business Management, Marketing or IT, those with a good understanding of call centre technology will have an added advantage.
    • Experience with working in data -rich settings with high analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication skills--both in person and when using remote methods.
    • Excellent Multitasking and time management skills.
    • Work experience with Customer Service roles.
    • Strong problem solving-ability and analytical skills.

    Commercial Manager

    • Act as the Pula spokesperson in the region.
    • Using knowledge of the market and competitors in the regions, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.

    Business Development

    • Defining Commercial targets in your region and ownership of the results.
    • Research, prepare and execute a sales plan focused on delivering new and recurring revenues through partnerships with agro-input companies and the public sector.
    • Develop pipeline and continuously mature & qualify opportunities in order to increase Pula’’s market share and to enable achievement of sales target.
    • Generating and qualifying new leads and using different approaches to penetrate prospective clients in your region. You are expected to qualify opportunities, know which deals to work on, and which ones to pass on.
    • Progress prospects through a defined sales process to eventual contracting and implementation.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Manage and nurture existing client relationships across a wide range of stakeholders including commodity associations, farmers’ aggregators, insurers, government and private companies.
    • Manage the handover of new customers to the operations team for the implementation of the solution.

    What you need to have to be successful: 

    • You have experience in strong demonstrable sales to development agencies, governments and / or financial institutions.
    • You have demonstrable success working against a sales quota target.
    • You have experience working with Development Agencies and / or Government officials at all levels and navigating government structures.

    Critical Thinking Skills.

    •  You must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Behavioural Skills. You must be self-directed, work well alone or in a team structure, highly results oriented, and willing to learn and expand his/her technical and product knowledge base through formal education, professional training, and self-study.
    • You have knowledge and understanding of dealing with C-suite executives with excellent communication and presentation skills, integrity and impeccable professionalism.
    • Sales and or consulting experience in the area of agriculture: seed / fertilizer / agrochemical industry or related is a significant advantage.
    • Experience and knowledge in the insurance industry will place you at an advantage.
    • You have the ability to use data and KPIs to make management decisions.
    • You are fully comfortable with sales CRM platforms, Google Drive applications such as Google Sheets, Google Docs etc.
    • Fluent English and local language skills
