    Global Head of Telco Sales

    Key responsibilities

    • This role is about commercial leadership of Canonical's Telco sector go-to-market and offerings:
    • guiding product management to ensure fitness of our platform and solutions in the Telco sector
    • building alliances and relationships with global leaders in the Telco vendor ecosystem
    • shaping our content and messaging strategy for Telco customers
    • driving business development and sales with service providers, Telco ISVs and Network Equipment providers


    Valued skills and experience
    The successful candidate will bring:

    • Experience in lead generation and business development from the Telco sector
    • Deep commercial experience encompassing revenue and costs
    • Familiarity with relevant industry requirements and standards
    • A technical or scientific background/qualifications
    • Proven leadership and presentation skills
    • Awareness of Ubuntu and Canonical’s competition and opportunities
    • Track record of data-driven decision-making


    Inventory Control

    • Manage and control inventory at optimal levels to avoid equipment downtime.

    Ubuntu Quality Engineer

    What you’ll do

    • Monitor indicators of quality across the Ubuntu ecosystem and products
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in Ubuntu Desktop, Ubuntu Server and Ubuntu Core
    • Enhance our continuous integration to guard Ubuntu image, release and package quality
    • Report on KPIs and analytical insights
    • Empower other teams for better planning and constant quality improvements
    • Develop, enhance and automate test cases, from unit tests to end-to-end multi machine workloads
    • Work from home with international travel twice a year, for events up to two weeks long


    Valued skills and experience

    • A strong software engineering, Linux, and open source background
    • In-depth knowledge of Python and Shell scripting
    • Experience with C/C++
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience working with others to identify, isolate and resolve issues
    • Experience with quality processes and continuous integration tools
    • Experience working in an agile development environment

    Global Lead OEM Alliances

    As a Global Lead OEM Alliances you will:

    • Build strategic relationships with IHV partners at levels
    • Grow their awareness of open source capabilities on Canonical Ubuntu
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Linux and cloud software ecosystem
    • Negotiate contracts and commercial business terms
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of large and complex organizations
    • Lead partnerships in APAC with companies like Lenovo, Huawei, Quanta, Fujitsu, Inspur, H3C,  NEC, Asus etc.
    • Lead partnerships in EMEA with companies like Bull, Siemens
    • Lead partnerships in the Americas with companies like Dell, HP, IBM, Supermicro
    • Work closely with marketing, sales engineering and product management
    • Deliver on targets, objectives and provide a voice of the partner
    • Lead executive interlocks between IHV and Canonical leadership
    • Travel regularly - sometimes internationally - to drive partnerships in person


    Valued skills and experience

    • Experience in alliance or indirect sales management roles
    • Autonomous, disciplined, hands-on, get-it-done mentality
    • Ability to capture customer requirements, evaluate gaps, identify and create opportunities
    • Passionate about Ubuntu products and mission
    • Comfortable in fast-paced and high pressure environments with measurable goals
    • Experience with Linux, virtualization, containers, and other cloud technologies.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
