    Mapping Geologist.

    About The Job

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Mapping Geologist.

    Role Purpose And Context

    • This would be done by mapping old development areas which are going to be opened or stripped and new ones to be developed by the mining contractor.

    Key Accpuntabilities:

    • Perform all duties and accountabilities adhering strictly to the AGA Security and Safety protocol
    • Provide accurate and reliable geological data from mapping and adhoc sampling, to update Integrated model for business planning.
    • Render geological services to underground and surface operations, including projects where required.
    • Liaise with the Senior Geologist in the provision of reports in compliance with corporate governance.
    • Underground mapping to identify and record the rock type, mineralization, structure, alteration.
    • Ensure the accuracy of the mapping to optimize data interpretation.
    • Ensure accurate capturing of mapping data into Fusion database for interpretation.
    • Ensure the update of geological plans to increase confidence level in geological data
    • Ensure quality assurance and quality control procedures are strictly adhered to

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Geosciences/Geology/Geological Engineering

    Experience :

    • Minimum of 2 years’ underground working experience
    • In-depth knowledge of mapping and interpretation of underground data
    • Must have basic working knowledge in Datamine and Century System software to represent mapped data

    Technical Competencies:

    • Ability to design, co-ordinate and monitor integrated schedule
    • In-depth knowledge in underground geological mapping, plotting and interpretation of data
    • Good written and verbal skills as well as excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
    • Must be effective communicator and have good presentational skills
    • Good experience in Microsoft office products especially word and excel

    Logging Geologist.

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Logging Geologist.

    Role Purpose And Context:

    • To provide dependable systems of work that reliably delivers the expected ore grade and tonnage from mine to mill. 
    • Integrate the technical studies, programs and analysis of production geology with the business objectives and processes of mine planning, mining production, and process plant. 
    • Monitor and report on these processes through effective reconciliation of gold movement across the system.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Apply geological knowledge and skills to collect geological data through logging and sampling from diamond drill core and RC chips based on AGA Standard Procedures
    • Prepare Geology LOM plans and annual budget, rolling annual forecast consistent with the approved project
    • Manage the delivery of the Geology Department budget as minimum requirement through the performance of Chief Geologist Team
    • Demonstrate Safety Leadership and improve the Culture across the Geology Department regarding Safety, Health, and Sustainable Development
    • Environmental management that is integrated into the Geology Department business plan and for drilling, core yard and laboratory
    • Monitor core delivery and assist senior geologist in creating geological sections and plot for logging
    • Resource and develop the people within the Geology Department to capably and consistently deliver the annual budget, LoM plan and strategy according to their role and level of authority
    • Ensure quality high-resolution core photos are appropriately captured for all drillholes
    • Ensure effective management of QAQC protocol

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Senior Backfill Engineer.

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Senior Backfill Engineer.

    Role Purpose And Context:

    • To manage and co-ordinate the backfill requirements for the mine in line with the established mine plan.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Assess risks for all tasks and ensure they are controlled before and during task execution.
    • Report all incidents and ensure they have been investigated and corrective actions completed on time.
    • Prepare sectional annual cost centre budget
    • Act on all corrective actions assigned to him/her or under his/her jurisdiction and ensure timely completion
    • Investigate all environmental incidents in assigned work areas and prepare reports with recommendations for the Departmental Manager for onward submission to the Environmental Manager or his/her representative
    • Develop the Backfill Engineering team recruitment specifically driving the localisation aims of the mine.
    • Map key internal stakeholder relationships and value with relevant management routines (communication, touchpoints, key meetings)
    • Prepare Backfill Engineering data aligned to defined quality assurance expectations
    • Ensure timely assessments of Backfill Engineering processes data
    • Report on costs controls and any deviations or constraints which may impact on planned outcomes
    • Implement approved work programmes and report on the attainment of plan
    • Apply controls to manage identified risks.
    • Ensure workplace monitoring and compliance with work standards of field personnel and contractors
    • Recommend and optimise the approach for conducting specialist projects and research in the Backfill Engineering process and procedures
    • Establish a network of targeted stakeholder relationships to socialise initiatives and enhancements
    • Report on the development and progress of initiatives and enhancements of the Backfill Engineering function, to include outputs and benefits obtained.
    • Describe the specific problems and constraints to be managed within the Backfill Engineering function
    • Present solutions to specific problems with defined resolution methodologies and resources to deliver improved performance in processes and procedures

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Qualification:

    • BSc. Mining / Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent

    Experience :

    • Five (5) to eight (8) years' operational experience within an underground mining environment of which at least three (3) years is backfill systems based;
    • Demonstrated experience with knowledge of fundamental underground backfill mechanics;
    • Proficient in the use of Mining Software;
    • Proficient in the management and control of underground backfill operations across a range of fill types;
    • Excellent Communication Skills.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Safety (Advanced Application)
    • Can identify and interpret safety risks and resolve emerging issues; and ensuring that appropriate focus and resources are available to achieve safety objectives.
    • Active participant in ensuring critical controls are in place and working.
