    Mechanical Technician- Process Plant

    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as Mechanical Technician - Process Plant.

    ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

    The Mechanical Technician - Process Plant reports to the Mechanical Supervisor is accountable for executing tasked plant mechanical maintenance work items. This position will execute work tasks falling in day and night shift, in a safe and compliant manner as instructed refurbishment, later maintenance, of the Processing Plant.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Work compliantly with the requirement of Government of Ghana Agencies, environmental, health & safety legislation and AGAG regulation
    • Accept personal responsibility for his own health and safety and that of every mine worker affected by his work
    • Adhere to site’s Environmental Management Plan
    • Interface with Contractors as directed and/or Construction teams regarding mechanical work tasks for refurbishment works and planned works that support the overall work plan, schedule and expectations. 
    • Attend training, development and performance improvement training as required
    • Execute mechanical refurbishment and maintenance work items as tasked - compliant and in accordance with all relevant regulations from Government of Ghana and AGAG
    • If expedient, provide detailed movement signals to crane operator for machine/equipment locating
    • Execute daily pre-start checks of equipment/tools prior to leaving workshop. Escalate and report any anomalies
    • Assess all equipment required for completion of the tasked work, create checklist and transport all tools necessary for task completion
    • Recognize any machine, equipment or crane operation anomalies that would indicate requirements for maintenance, report and escalate.
    • Provide data and information to support the Maintenance Planner to close out work orders in SAP on completion of the tasked work for all process plant and equipment refurbishment and maintenance activities.
    • Operate all equipment within the safe working environment.
    • Stop equipment operation if there exists a high risk or unsafe to be used

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Qualification

    • Secondary education level
    • Certificate of successful completion of respected mechanical trade apprenticeship (example: City and Guilds)

    Experience

    • Five (5) years of experience of post-apprenticeship work in a mechanical trade  
    • Familiarity with the Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health Safety and Technical) Regulation

    Technical Competencies

    • Fully literate and numerate 
    • Fully competent in electrical trade
    • Knowledge in crane safe operation

    CIC Technician – Surface Mine Infrastructure

    We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated person to join our dedicated team as CIC Technician - Surface Mine Infrastructure.

    ROLE PURPOSE AND CONTEXT

    The CIC Technician – Surface Mine Infrastructure is accountable for all general CIC maintenance on, for example, Fridge Plants, Primary Vent Fans (BVS, CAT 300, SNVS, KMVS, GCVS), Generator sets, and Pastefill in a safe and compliant manner as instructed during refurbishment, later maintenance, of the Surface Mine Infrastructure.

    The work is to be executed in accordance with detailed tasking in accordance with applicable Government of Ghana and AGAG safety and environmental requirements.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    • Work according to total quality management principles & ensure zero defect objectives & safety
    • Conduct periodic audits of all CIC refurbishment, later maintenance within the Surface Mine Infrastructure
    • Conduct reviews of the refurbishment, later maintenance, of the CIC equipment to identify actions for continuous improvement
    • Assist the CIC Supervisor – Surface Mine Infrastructure to develop condition monitoring routes and checks for correct functioning equipment;
    • Execute refurbishment, later maintenance, work checks on a routine scheduled basis. This include visual checks, infrared data collection, ultrasonic data collection, motor current and flux data collection, simple NDT data collection, verification of output within calibration and specification;
    • Analyse and trend predictive maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc) to determine plant condition and report this condition for action;
    • Monitor general physical condition of CIC assets and report
    • Monitor preventive and corrective actions as necessary;
    • Execute repair work, where appropriate, on instrumentation, communication and control equipment 
    • Generate  work  requests  in  SAP  as  required  for refurbishment/maintenance, repair  planning and scheduling
    • Ensure routine condition monitoring tasks are performed on all the rotating equipment by data collection using advanced portable data collectors and other tools according to the established schedules and also as per the plant requirements.
    • Gather information on vibration & other data collected in order to diagnose / troubleshoot rotating machinery problems. 
    • Actively participate in maintenance review programmes and Root Cause Failure Analysis process of CIC equipment as per requirements.
    • Monitor equipment performance on asset health system and take proactive measures to address symptoms of potential failure.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    Qualification

    • EET I / EET II / EET III or equivalent
    • Completed trade apprenticeship in electronics repair for communications, instrumentation

    Experience

    • An experienced electronics/instrumentation maintenance technician with 5+ years’ experience in, preferably, industrial instrumentation and controls

    Legal Requirement

    • Certificated Trade Apprenticeship with a relevant certification body (e.g. City and Guilds)

    Technical Competencies

    • Fully literate and numerate 
    • Fully competent in CIC trade
