    Drilling Helper

    Duties:

    • To assist in providing support services during the operation of drills, consumable management and change-outs, quality assurance for all drill holes, in a safe and controlled manner.
    • Attend all pre-drill instruction meetings.
    • Communicate with and receive instruction from the Drill Supervisor and follow specified instructions, prior to the execution of activities.
    • Support Drillers to efficiently and safely drill holes for blasting.
    • Assist in loading, securing and unloading drill equipment.
    • Assist the Drillers in the positioning and movement of the drill.
    • Understand, select and work with hand tools.
    • Utilise pegs to stake out the drill hole sites when the jigsaw system is down.
    • Measure the depth required for drill holes using measuring equipment.
    • Spray-mark the depth of the hole, adjacent to the drill hole.

    Training & Experience:

    • Senior School Certificate.
    • Drivers’ License.
    • Sound concentration skills.
    • Sound time management skills.
    • Ability to communicate using signals.
    • Ability to follow procedures (especially around hazardous materials and equipment).
    • Ability to interact well with people and communicate effectively.

    Working Conditions:

    • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to sit at a desk for extended periods, climb stairs, walk and stand.
    • Work Environment: The noise level in the field environment is high. The incumbent is frequently exposed to noise, fumes, high temperature, hazardous environments, sharp edges, dust, pinch-points, vibration, slippery surfaces, and extreme weather conditions.
    • Protective Equipment (PPE): Work requires mandatory PPE such as helmet, goggles, high visible clothing, safety harness, ear plugs and dust mask according to working conditions.
    • Incumbent occasionally has to work overtime.
    • Incumbent is expected to lift heavy materials and/or operate heavy machinery and is also exposed to moving machinery.

    Process Maintenance Data Clerk

    Purpose

    • To support the process maintenance planning department in planning work orders and packaging the Maintenance Schedule.

    Essential Duties:

    • Complete safety meeting minutes, distribute and file accordingly.
    • File and maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance planning records for regulatory purposes.
    • Distribute maintenance data and information pulled from the CMMS system, as directed or required.
    • Provide required documents to Maintenance Supervisors timeously and efficiently.
    • Institute version controls of documentation for Maintenance Supervisors.
    • Support document control management processes through the methodical upkeep of records and information.
    • Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors to confirm that timesheets are completed and submitted accurately.
    • Capture daily entries of man-hours into the designated maintenance management system.
    • Provide data capture and information management support to other maintenance departments, on an as-needed basis.
    • Capture and record all data related to maintenance planning and execution in the Process Plant.
    • Update CMMS, based on changes made to the shutdown schedule.
    • Update shutdown schedule as required.
    • Export shutdown work orders to MS Project, as required.
    • Review work orders and Maintenance Plans or MST’s for inclusion in shutdowns and change work groups, as required.
    • Distribute closing comments and improvement suggestions on completed work orders.
    • Assist with the confirmation and closing of Work Orders.
    • Highlight any missing gaps in Work Orders to Maintenance Supervisors and conduct follow-ups to receive the necessary information.
    • Provide status change updates to the necessary Maintenance Supervisors in component tracking on CMMS.
    • Support maintenance planning through the processing of work orders on the CMMS system.

    Training & Experience:

    • Ability to establish facts, identify and define problems from baseline information and draw valid conclusions in Engineering terms.
    • Sound communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
    • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong planning, organizing and prioritizing skills.
    • Strong computer literacy skills - MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and MS Project and Visio.
    • Strong data capture, as well as information monitoring and management skills.
    • Minimum of 2 – 3 years’ related work experience in a process plant maintenance environment (preferably in a gold processing plant).
    • Higher National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical).

    Working Conditions:

    • Position is in a very remote location. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representatives of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
