    Legal Officer

    What will your role be?

    The Legal Officer will assist the Head of Department in the following functions:

    • To manage all legal functions of the institution.
    • To supervise and coordinate the operations of the Institution’s legal and Associates legal issues.
    • To ensure the Institution is provided a good and sound legal framework to achieve its objectives.
    • To manage all court cases.
    • To provide analysis and counsel on legal and policy issues.
    • To ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • To perfect legal documents.
    • To manage the secretarial duties for the Board of Directors and Shareholders.
    • To appoint and manage external lawyers.
    • To manage recovery risks.

    Profile:    
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provide analysis and counsel on legal and policy issues. These may include:                      

    1. Proposed new products
    2. Protecting intellectual property
    3. Financial offerings, financial structuring, securities offerings, compliance issue, non-disclosure agreements, outsourcing agreements and business strategic planning.
    • Review contracts between the Institution and other bodies.
    • Advise Management on legal issues and ensuring that the rights of the clients are protected
    • Manage the Institution’s charged off loans and non- performing assets
    • Manage all vehicle transfers and/or registrations for all branches.
    • Provide legal counsel to recover outstanding debts from defaulting Customers.
    • Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues.
    • Undertake credit appraisals of customers.
    • Examine newly published laws, acts and regulations and ascertaining how these affect the institution’s business.
    • Perfecting of legal documentation.
    • Develop and recommend operating policy and procedural improvements.
    • Prepare and create legal contracts on behalf of the Institution and representing the client in various legal proceedings.
    • Review and draft contracts, agreements and internal policies and ensure that they are in compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
    • Participate in relevant committee meetings such as disciplinary, credit, loan review etc.
    • Ensure the recovery procedures are applied by the Recovery unit and the branch network
    • Check the defaulting client’s files that come in for completeness and to take actions to improve their quality if needed (missing or unsigned documents)
    • Take concerted decisions with Branch Managers on which clients and guarantors to seize - decisions based on different criteria (passing of Event of Default deadline, payment history, respect or breach of contract)
    • Ensure an effective recovery set up for the operations of the company
    • Manage the Relationship with valuers and auctioneers and ensure Advans Ghana obtains the returns it deserves.
    • Develop comprehensive reports for external lawyers should we have to go to court
    • Where necessary liaise with relevant departments to ensure that legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
    • Review progress of outstanding litigation.

    Other Duties

    • Initiating court proceedings against Clients
    • Representing the Company in court/police stations on cases initiated by client or service providers
    • Follow up with government agencies

      What kind of profile are we looking for?

    You have:

    Administrative Officer, Legal

    What will your role be?

    Reporting to the Head of Department, the Admin Officer, Legal will be responsible for:

    • transfer of Client’s Vehicle used as Collateral in Accra and where necessary for outstations. Ensure that all vehicles used as collateral for loans at Advans Ghana are swiftly transferred and all documents bearing the clients’ name are changed to that of Advans before loans are disbursed to the clients.
    • vehicle transfers for Auto loans, processing and delivery of all vehicle Insurance for Auto loans for clients.
    • filing of all Court processes.

    Profile:    
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Participate in the definition of the loan disbursement objectives, to make sure they are known and understood by him/her, the branch staff, and the client.
    • Review all vehicle documents presented by clients to the branch as collateral to access loans or auto loans Vehicle papers, insurance cover, road worthy certificate, Form C, transfer letter duly signed by owner, recognized national ID card, 2 passport sized pictures and other related documents.
    • Confirm client’s ownership of vehicle with DVLA by liaising with Advans Ghana’s agents for support.
    • Conduct a physical inspection of the vehicle used by client as collateral for the loan or to be acquired for auto loans.
    • Report to Legal on all issues identified during the inspection and communicate recommended actions or intervention required.
    • Maintain regular contact and communication with client throughout the transfer process and provide the needed clarification.
    • Monitor and communicate the results of transfer with Clients and branch staff to aid in loan disbursement or auto loan sign off.
    • Ensure that all Forms or documents are duly endorsed by all signatories involved in the transfer or auto loan processes.
    • Create and update database of all Vehicles used as collaterals, vehicles acquired for auto loans, their respective owners and any other relevant information required. 
    • Act on behalf of Advans Ghana in the transfer process.
    • Develop daily reports for all transfers to be conducted to include; name of owner, date vehicle was received, branch where loan transaction is taking place and the vehicle’s registration number.
    • Ensure that all a comprehensive data exist for all vehicles purchased for auto loans.
    • Ensure that all statutory payments required for transfers and auto loans are duly paid at the required offices with receipts.
    • Assist in the acquisition of insurance for all auto loan clients on their respective vehicles.
    • Assist with all court processes by filing of processes, getting a bailiff to serve clients.
    • Assist bailiffs to locate clients and procure all court record including orders, judgments and rulings.
    • Any other duty as may be assigned by line manager/supervisor.

    Markets and Customer Research Intelligence Officer

    What will your role be?

    • Reporting to the Head, Marketing and Customer Impact, the Markets and Customer Intelligence Officer will be responsible for interpreting data, formulating reports and making recommendations based upon research findings. This position is responsible for designing, conducting, and managing market research studies regarding Advans Ghana’s existing and proposed products and services as well as analysing market trends, consumer preferences, and market opportunities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Market Intelligence Gathering

    • Conducts analysis as required to address ad hoc business questions and issues. In addition, the Markets and Customer Intelligence Officer will assist with analytics and primary research studies with consumers and customers.
    • Assist in identifying key opportunities to build brand awareness, expand markets, drive sales, and introduce technological innovations that are aligned with customer’s needs.
    • Analyze and assess present and future needs, trends, challenges, and opportunities related to the Customers and Marketing Unit as well as the Sales & Distribution Unit
    • Use data from information systems to support the development of marketing plans and evaluate the success of marketing and Commercial efforts
    • Assist Marketing with communicating with end users, focus groups, industry leaders to understand and document the business objectives
    • Conducting in-depth data analyses using traditional and advanced methods and supporting the Reporting and Data Analysis team in analyzing the internal data.
    • Developing reports and making presentations when necessary.

    Business and Strategy Development

    • Utilize strategic marketing processes to provide market segmentation analysis, consumer insights and needs assessment.

    Marketing Support

    • Participate in some aspects of marketing communications (i.e., collateral, sales sheets, trade shows, etc.) working internally to determine needs and externally with agency to develop strategy and supporting products.
    • Building and maintaining customer pipeline to assist with sales direction and business development
    • Works collaboratively across the organization to obtain the data necessary for marketplace analysis and reporting.

    WHAT KIND OF PROFILE ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
    You have:

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing and or Business.
    • 2-4 years’ experience working with Sales, marketing operations, product marketing within a financial industry.
    •  Good understanding of the micro finance and or Savings and Loans establishment and knowledge of a variety of different research methods.

    Senior Marketing and Brand Officer

    What will your role be?

    Communications

    • Assist in building brand awareness and increasing brand value and profitability
    • Provide support and lead (where needed) in the development of high-quality communications content for external and internal use such as website, SEO, etc.
    • Ensure provision of up-to date information for stakeholders (internal and external)
    • Ensure consistency in communication activities in terms of voice, branding, messaging and frequency of posting via channels.

    Reporting and Performance Monitoring Officer

    WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE BE?

    • Under the supervision of the Head of Reporting and Performance Monitoring Unit, the Reporting & Performance Monitoring officer will assist in the preparation of reports to management on the operations and performance of the organization.     • A minimum of 2 years in performance monitoring/reporting role or data analytics involving the use of the use of various tools and applications.

    Accounts Officer

    What will your role be?

    • Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the Accounts Officer will assist in regulatory reporting, keeping of accounts, delivering the standard range of financial information (general ledger, sub-ledgers, trial balances, balances, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement), and annex information required for financial analysis purpose.

    Senior Human Resource Officer

    WHAT WILL YOUR ROLE BE?

    • Under the supervision of the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), you will be responsible for the supervision and management of HR administration and Compensation & Benefits of the institution.

    Your main responsibility will be the following:

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Oversees processing of monthly payroll and ensure that staff are paid on time which will include accurate capture of payroll information and attending to any issues that they may have on their pay.
    • Analyzes salary reports and data to ensure there are no errors and address queries and concerns raised by staff on compensation and benefits.
    • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance with the salary structure of the institution and other statutory requirements and equity within organization.
    • Oversees the overall processing of staff benefits including staff loans, Salary Advances, medicals bills.
    • Shall be responsible for ensuring that ex staff who are liable to the institution settle their liability after exiting the institution and this shall include the development of recovery strategies.
    • Conduct periodic compensation and benefit survey to ensure the institutions’ remuneration package is competitive within our industry.
    • Ensure that the Payroll files at every point in time contain all the needed computation in accordance with the statutory regulations.

    Administration

    • Administer HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment
    • Contribute to the design, revision, implementation and management of personnel policies; Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management and HR information needs.
    • Ensure the HR database is up to date, accurate and complies with legislation.
    • Shall be responsible for managing the day-to-day relationship with  external service providers such as medical insurance firms, payroll, Workmen compensation, SSNIT, and Provident Fund firms and propose way to optimize partnerships and related tasks and activities
    • Oversees the smooth running of the institutional leave calendar in accordance with legislation and the Employee Handbook. This will include monitoring and recording employee leave requests.
    • Following up litigation and disputes involving company personnel.
    • Contribute and support other specific HR needs required
    • Shall respond to HR related inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
    • Communicate and ensure compliance and consistency with office practices and policies and compliance with all employment related laws.
    • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
    • Keep records of staff transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics to ensure accuracy at every point in time
    • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
    • Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
    • Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with state law.
    • Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.

     Supervision

    • Work closely with Head of HR Services and the other HR officers in the management and execution of task within the Administration and Compensation & Benefits unit.

    Profile:

    • You hold a minimum of a first degree in Human Resource or any relevant social science program
