    Legal & Compliance Head

    Role Overview

    • The legal and compliance Lead will  oversee the  provision of  legal advice on business matters, such as patents, contracts, labor agreements, regulatory measures, taxation, and intellectual property rights. The role will be focused on  researching cases, drafting contracts, developing diverse corporate procedures, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, drafting codes of conduct, litigating course cases, and protecting the reputation and assets of the company. 

    Responsibilities 
    Compliance

    • Lead the drafting, preparation  and review of all business contracts, agreements to ensure compliance with all required laws and protection of the Company's best interest.
    • Acts as a source of expert current knowledge of all legal, ethics & compliance programs and supports the development of an effective and pragmatic compliance culture
    • Initiates a communication program that ensures a clear understanding of legal compliance standards required of individuals conducting high risk activities in Farmerline’s business
    • Assess level of compliance with established policies, procedures and standards, across the organization as well as adequacy of internal controls within business, financial processes and operations
    • Research and analyze the laws, regulations, policies, and rules that govern Farmerline’s work in Ghana and other areas of operation.

    Policies and Procedures

    • Lead in drafting internal policies that ensure external compliance.
    • Performs proactive risk assessment to identify business processes in the country and advise on which may represent a risk for the company, with an emphasis on financial, business controls and efficient business processes.
    • In consultation with department managers develop and implement strategies to manage risks.
    • Coordinate with all functions in identifying, developing and implementing improvements in response to legal requirements, legislation changes and company policy requirements

    Reporting

    • Responsible for reporting and escalating risks, legal issues and best practices. 
    • Develop and maintain a risk assessment matrix while running a quarterly analysis of vulnerabilities and risks and implementing corrective actions.

    Others

    • Act as custodian of key corporate legal documents
    • Provide guidance, upon request and need, for any new area of operation.
    • Build and maintain relationships with Farmerline’s external legal partnerships
    • Provide legal advice and assistance to management in relation to all legal requirements for key areas such as  contracting , permitting, employment and environment.
    • You may be required to take up other duties and responsibilities as and when required.

    Required Qualifications

    • Graduate degree in Law
    • Must be called to the Ghana Bar 
    • Professional background, with at least three years’ experience in practicing Law.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience at work, or outside of work.
    • Excellent communication skills and proficient writing and presentation skills.
    • Proven ability to drive projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
    • Good interpersonal relationship with  key regulators and stakeholders
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex compliance issues
    • A working knowledge of French will be an advantage.

    Senior Product Designer

    Role Overview

    • The Senior Product Designer will work with the product and engineering teams to distill complex problems into simple, innovative and engaging user experiences. They must have an eye for functional design and possess technical skills to distill high-level concepts and ideas into concrete high-fidelity designs. 

    Responsibilities 

    • Partner with other product designers, product managers, and engineers to define problems and goals, map user flows, prototype interactions, and create new features and products
    • Produce engaging, customer-centric responsive products regardless of the screen device
    • Conduct UX audits quarterly and suggest improvements
    • Optimize Mergdata’s designs for different devices (web and mobile)
    • Own and develop design solutions from an idea to execution
    • Recommend and identify resources on development for junior product designers
    • Conduct and report quarterly performance assessment of junior product designers
    • Give and solicit feedback from designers and cross-disciplinary partners.
    • Conduct user research, user interviews, analyze data, transforming them into wireframes, mockups, and prototypes optimized for web and mobile platforms.
    • Use research, analytics, and metrics to make informed design decisions
    • Have proficient knowledge of UX tools, process, and UI patterns
    • Be able to take criticism of your design and explain the why behind your designs.
    • Take more responsibility for your own work
    • Can take a step back, see things from a broader perspective, and manage projects
    • Be able to handle multiple tasks and projects without becoming overwhelmed.
    • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders about your team’s design decisions.

    Required Qualifications

    • Has a strong portfolio showcasing high quality, thoughtful UI/UX.
    • A passion for building great products and experiences.
    • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual).
    • Expert knowledge of design tools, processes, and principles from education and/or past experience
    • Strong collaboration skills and eagerness to learn and grow
    • Not required, but a plus: Experience working on a B2B product 
    • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
    • Ability to take on more responsibilities and support projects
    • Experience building prototypes
    • Understands the strategic thinking behind a digital product
    • Is open to constructive feedback, both giving and receiving
    • Is a team player, who likes to do their design work together with cross-functional team members rather than independently
    • More than 5 Years of industry experience as a senior designer 
    • Must have worked with a product and engineering team or led a team to build and ship products that have gone live.
