    Housing Assistant

    Duties

    • Incumbent assists the General Services Officer in the location of suitable short-term lease residential properties for Mission employees. This is a non-supervisory position and supervised by the Housing Supervisor – FSN-09.  
    • Keeps housing list, housing view spread sheet and RPA systems up to date and update utilities log with current occupant information.
    • Keeps Housing Board Records

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    EXPERIENCE: 

    • A minimum of 3 years experience with renting residential properties is required.

    JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

    • Knowledge of local housing markets, residential areas, role and real estate agents.  Must know his/her way around the city. Should be able to provide pertinent advice on properties, since bad advice could mean the loss of a potentially good property. Knowledgeable in good customer service, lease/rental management, wood and joinery works, floor plan measurements and sketches

    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of High School diploma (Secondary school) is required.

    Evaluations:

    • Post may choose to add the phrase “This may be tested” after a language, skill, and/or ability.  Review the VA template for specific information.

    LANGUAGE:  Fluent English (reading, writing and spoken language ) is required.  On occasion job holder may need to act as an interpreter in English  (Language proficiency may be tested).
    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to work under little or no supervision.  Ability to display initiative and resourcefulness in the performance of duties. Ability to perform tasks under pressure.  Must have a valid driver's license Class B for a minimum of 5 years.  Should be skilled in Microsoft Office applications, the use of e-mail and downloads from the computer. Ability to understand, explain and interpret the USG model lease. Must have good persuasion and negotiation skills. (Driving skills may be tested).

    Accounting Technician

    Duties

    • Under the direction of the Financial Management Specialist, the incumbent will prepare the DS and ICASS DS budgets, assists in the maintenance of accounting records for post held allotments. Responsible for the verification and processing of all post held allotment accounting data into the Momentum Regional Financial Management System (RFMS). Also responsible for verifying and assigning correct fiscal data to post held allotment vouchers prior to completion by the Financial Management Center(FMC) vouchering unit. Responsible for processing journal vouchers where needed and other work incident to the maintenance of all post held accounts.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:

    EXPERIENCE:  At least three years of experience in any combination of the following: accounting, auditing, cashiering, management, finance, banking, or business administration in an international organization, NGO or government entity is required. .


    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  A good basic knowledge of budgets, standardized bookkeeping and accounting procedures, processes and format and use of accounting documents (such as obligations, invoices and disbursements) to maintain and reconcile records in the accounting systems. A good working knowledge of accounting terminology and codes necessary to classify transactions for all agencies. Good working knowledge of office procedures /processes.

    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of Secondary School and two years of college studies in Accounting or Business Management is required.

    Evaluations:

    • Post may choose to add the phrase “This may be tested” after a language, skill, and/or ability.  Review the VA template for specific information.

    LANGUAGE:  Good working knowledge of the written and spoken language. Job holder should be able to read and understand, for example, regulations, instructions and related material concerning the field of work, and to prepare correspondence and standardized reports. Job holder should be able to communicate effectively with staff and members of the public in the language. (Language proficiency may be tested.)


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Computer skills to include experience with MS Office, Excel, Word and Outlook. Good mathematical and analytical skills to calculate and analyze financial data to detect and avoid errors. Must be able to administer effective accounting office procedures/processes such as correct filing, answering requests from customers, operating office equipment, clear and concise writing skills..

    Consular Associate

    Duties

    • Under the direct supervision of the Consular Officer, the Consular Associate is assigned a wide range of responsibilities in the American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit, Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) Unit, Immigrant Visa Unit, and Fraud Prevention Unit (FPU).  The jobholder provides consular services to U.S. citizens, conducts non-adjudicatory visa processing, and assists in investigation and validation studies.  Incumbent also handles correspondence with the public, attorneys, U.S. and host governments, Congress, and other parties.  Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Minimum of two years of office administrative experience is required.  

    Education Requirements:

    • Completion of High School is required.

    Chauffeur

    Duties

    • The incumbent performs chauffeuring and dispensing of fuel duties in the Motorpool. S/he keeps vehicle clean, maintains vehicle records by ensuring that vehicle documents are valid, as well as accessories and fixtures are operational in compliant with road traffic regulations. S/he reports to the motor pool dispatcher.
    • Drive Americans and other mission employees and official visitors to, and from various parts of the city and regions in Ghana. This requires substantial knowledge of the roads in and out of Accra, as well as the road traffic rules and regulations, Department of State regulations governing the operation of GOV vehicles.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    EXPERIENCE
    :  A minimum of three years of prior experience driving in an international organization and/or large trucking firm is required.  


    JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have the ability to read road map and comprehensive knowledge of the roads in and out of Accra, in Ghana as well as general traffic rules and regulations.

    Education Requirements:
    Mandatory: Completion of primary school is required.

    Evaluations:
    LANGUAGE
    :  Good working knowledge in English is required.  (Language proficiency will be tested).


    SKILLS AND ABILITIES Optional: Must possess at least a valid driver's license "Class C" offered by DVLA. Must be able to demonstrate skill in executing various tactics for the security of passengers in all driving situations. Must have the ability to perform minor car repairs such as changing tires, oil, etc. (Driving skills will be tested)
