    Lecturers / Professors / Laboratory Technician

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the under listed positions in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, College of Health and Allied Sciences:

    •  Professors

    •  Senior Lecturers
    •  Lecturers

    Areas of Specialisation

    •  Pharmaceutical Microbiology
    •  Pharmaceutics
    •  Clinical Pharmacy
    •  Pharmacognosy
    •  Pharmaceutical Chemistry

    Job Description (Responsibilities)

    Successful candidates shall be responsible for:

    •  Engaging in research in areas of specialisation
    •  Teaching of courses at graduate and postgraduate levels;
    •  Supervising graduate research students’ works and;
    •  Offering academic counselling to students

    Qualification

    1) Professor

    Candidates must:

    •  Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in any of the areas of specialisation.
    •  Have a considerable number of years of teaching/research experience in any reputable university or a comparable institution.
    •  Have at least eight (8) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Associate Professor or a total of twenty (20) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer.
    •  Have taught for a minimum of two (2) years as Associate Professor.
    •  Additional professional qualification such as Fellowship may be advantageous.

    2) Associate professor

    Candidates must:

    •  Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in any of the areas of specialisation.
    •  Have not less than seven (7) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Senior Lecturer or a total of twelve (12) publications in refereed journals since appointment as Lecturer.
    •  Have taught in a reputable university or a comparable institution for a minimum of four (4) years as Senior Lecturer.
    • Additional professional qualification such as Fellowship may be advantageous.

    3) Senior Lecturer

    Candidates must:

    •  Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in any of the areas of specialisation
    •  Have at least four (4) years teaching/research experience as a Lecturer.
    •  Have a minimum of five (5) publications in refereed journals.
    •  Additional professional qualification such as Fellowship may be advantageous.

    4) Lecturer

    Candidates must:

    •  Possess a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in any of the areas of specialisation.
    •  Have at least two (2) years post-qualification teaching and research experience in a University or an analogous institution of higher learning.
    •  Have at least two (2) refereed publications in their areas of specialization.
    •  Additional professional qualification such as Fellowship may be advantageous.

    Systems Librarian

    Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for appointment to the positions of Systems Librarian at the Rank of Senior Assistant Librarian and Assistant Librarian.

    Job Summary

    •  The Systems Librarian shall coordinate and manage the Integrated Library information Systems of the University of Cape Coast Library System.
    •  He/ She will lead in the design, implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Library Information Systems.
    •  Focusing on visibility, accessibility, sustainability and performance.
    •  The Systems Librarian shall also automate the workflow and optimize operations of the University Library Systems.

    Responsibilities

    •  Provide broad support, solution and standard for the Integrated Library Information Systems.
    •  Design, Implement and maintain the Library Management Systems.
    •  Manage and Support the Library websites and the E-library.
    •  Manage and support the University Institutional Repositories (IR).
    •  Manage and support library hardware and software that support library services and operations eg. KOHA, Dspace, EZProxy, LibGuide etc.
    •  Manage and support Library Servers and Networks.

    Qualification Required & Experience

    •  PhD or MPhil or MSc (Research) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or Information Science.
    •  Professional certificates in Librarianship and ICT will be an advantage.
    •  Evidence of Research and Scholarly Publications.

    Considerable work experience in the following:

    •  Academic Library settings or environment.
    •  Library automation / Integrated Library systems and technologies.
    •  Client server environment UNIX, LINUX, ORACLE, MySQL, XML, PIN etc.
    •  Knowledge of cataloguing principles including MARC and MARC 21
    •  Knowledge of web development and data use management
    •  Programming language (HTML, CSS, Java script, Python etc.)
