Responsible for the supervision of installations and maintenance of all Power generation electrical services, including some hands on technical maintenance and repair activities.
Coach and mentor all technical staff on the maintenance and repair of generators and electrical controls Input and review of High Voltage distribution and related contracts design and construction
Supervision of installations and maintenance of all electrical services, including some hands on technical maintenance and repair activities.
Under minimal supervision, this position is to perform repair, maintenance, troubleshooting and design/installation of electrical systems and equipment such as lighting, motors, transformers, wiring, switches, used for the distribution and utilization of electrical energy in accordance with applicable building codes and safety regulations.
Planning and scheduling the workload and project schedules.
Procurement of all necessary materials and equipment to carry out responsibilities.
Perform all procedures related to the quality assurance and quality control of the switchgear
Ensure compliance with sustainability processes, quality management system and safety procedures.
Assembling, testing, and commissioning of equipment
In put and participation in the planning/design and construction of the high voltage distribution of power
Maintain a formal management reporting system that incorporates performance statistics, any applicable statutory requirements and business improvement initiatives.
Assist the Departmental Manager with implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects.
Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Education Requirements for This Position (Formal Qualifications)
Must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
High Voltage qualifications Key Experiences Needed Prior To Taking This Position
Minimum 5 years of experience working with Electrical Industrial installation & Maintenance.
High voltage design and installation experience. Large/national distribution nets.
Strong leadership and communication skills with Plant Management level.
Strong computer skills in all common applications.
Motivated and innovative and adapt quickly to environment and surrounding changes.
Willingness and demonstrated experience in coaching/mentoring local staff.
Good language skill of both written and spoken English and French.
