  • Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC) was established on 20 August, 1975, as an operating agency under the Ministry of Education. The official notice about the setting up of the Council by Executive Instrument was published in Gazette No. 65 of 5th December, 1975. The Council was inaugurated on 2 April 1976 and began full operation in January, 1977

    Finance Manager

    The Ghana Book Development Council, an agency under the Ministry of Education, is recruiting for the position of Finance Manager.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Design and maintain an effective accounting and internal control systems
    • Prepare annual budget and periodic financial statements in accordance with approved standards
    • Record and keeping the books of accounts
    • Collate data for the analysis of the financial transaction. Check and vet all financial documents before payments are effected and ensure that details are properly entered into the appropriate records
    • Preparation and submission of annual and other periodic departmental reports

    Qualification Required & Experience

    • A minimum of Master's Degree in Business Administration (Accounting) or equivalent professional qualification from an accredited institution
    • Membership of the institute of chartered Accountants, Ghana or a recognised professional accounting body
    • A minimum of 3 years post qualification relevant work experience in a reputable institution
    • Must be conversant with the public sector rules and regulations on finance and procurement
