    Broker Unit Manager

    To provide excellent and quality sales to clients, including managing existing businesses making sure they enjoy the Enterprise Advantage


    • Plan and deliver on sales strategies to achieve business and personal targets
    • Prospect and sell the products and services of the company
    • Plan, recruit and train Sales Representatives
    • Set targets and manage Sales Representatives to achieve personal as well as branch and corporate sales targets
    • Constant field activity with Sales Reps to improve on their selling skills and product knowledge
    • Vetting of Application Forms to ensure there are no errors
    • Work on and re-submit cases that are returned by New Business
    • Prepare and undertake sales presentations to individuals, groups and associations or corporate bodies
    • Effectively manage Sales Representatives with focus on their engagement, motivation and their welfare
    • Effectively communicate business decisions and information to all Sales Reps and other stakeholders
    • Handle performance improvement and performance management issues to ensure optimal performance of all Sales Representatives
    • Fully implement all new initiatives that leads to the achievement of key business imperatives ( Examples include, but not limited to Customer Service at Your-Door-Step, etc)
    • Manage key partnerships with third parties including, but not limited to, recruitment sources and partnerships, etc
    • Receive and distribute application forms and record same for auditing purposes
    • Drive the use of the E-App for the selling of new businesses
    • Drive quality sales that will persist on our books
    • Open paypoints and ensure Sales Reps sell from identifiable sources
    • Submit new businesses via the Sales Portal
    • Provide timely and useful feedback to Underwriting & Reinsurance to improve on business processes
    • Ensure conservation of policies through professional advice and conduct
    • Salvage returned cases and resubmit to New Business
    • Ensure daily reporting of Team KRA to Branch Manager
    • Handling of client issues both on the field and in the office
    • Follow up on commission issues and ensure Sales Reps are paid on time and accurately
    • Prepare and submit daily/weekly/monthly reports to Broker Business Manager
    • Support in the orientation and training of National Service Persons/Interns
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader, Head of Department or the business.

    Required Skills or Experience

    • A minimum of a first degree in any discipline
    • At least 5 years working experience as a Sales Rep
    • Must have demonstrated team leadership skills
    • Must have a track record of excellent performance and good behaviour
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Must be very analytical
    • Good organizational skills
    • Ability to drive and have a valid driver’s license
    • Creative, confident and professional person with high levels of self-drive
    • Must be highly ethical
    • Excellent knowledge in use of ICT to achieve results

    Relationship Manager


    • Sale and Advisory services

    • Proactively identify, contact and sell life policies to target market.
    • Maintain a consistent high level of service delivery whilst identifying new business opportunities.
    • Serve as personal insurance advisers and or consultants to their clientele in the value creation process.
    • Manage all customer related issues ranging from online services to policy administration issues, payment of premiums, advice on new products and loyalty related benefits or services.
    • Conduct periodic visits to the client and establish strong relationship.
    • Develop and maintain a client referral database on potential clients.
    • Keep records of all business generated
    • Manage client exits whilst ensuring utmost customer satisfaction

    Required Skills or Experience

    • A minimum of a 1st degree in any discipline from a recognized local or international university
    • At least three (3) years working experience in sales or client services environment
    • Have excellent IT skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Focused and structured in approach, effectively managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Creative, confident and professional person with high levels of drive and integrity

    Broker Business Manager


    • To be responsible for the overall management of the branch including, but not limited to Distribution, Client Services, Premium Administration, People Management and general branch management.
    • To direct and implement agreed organizational policies, defined rules and procedures to meet objectives


    • Provide Leadership for the unit in all its activities and engagements both internally and with other third parties (example, building relationships with the pay points, statutory bodies, etc.)
    • Ensure the overall management of the branch to achieve corporate objectives
    • Grow branch/business performance on all KPIs to ensure team/branch profitability
    • Support and supervise Broker Unit Managers in prospecting for New Businesses, improving the quality of sales, meeting and exceeding business targets, etc. 
    • Manage and drive the full implementation of all new initiatives that leads to the achievement of key business imperatives (Examples include, but not limited to Customer Service at Your-Door-Step, etc.)
    • Be responsible for Performance review with Sales Managers and Broker Unit Managers (Daily/Weekly KRA Management)
    • Responsible for managing all back office staff in the unit (Customer Service Officers, Premium Admin Officer, NSPs, Contract Staff, etc.)
    • Be responsible for managing customer service deliverables in the unit (NPS, Morning Hurdles, resolving client issues, and other customer centric initiatives)
    • Handle claims investigations and report same to Head of Forensics
    • Responsible for managing premium administration deliverables in the branch (pay point opening, collection drives, engagement initiatives, etc.)
    • Coordinate and facilitate Sales Reps and Back Office Trainings and report same to the EL Learning Academy as part of monthly reports
    • Effectively communicate business decisions and information to all staff and stakeholders
    • Escalate and follow-up on issues with other Departments for a quick resolution per approved turnaround time.
    • Engage, drive and inspire confidence in the staff to achieve business and personal goals
    • Submit daily/weekly and monthly reports to Regional Sales Manager on all expected deliverables in the branch

    Required Skills or Experience

    • 1st Degree in a relevant field from an accredited University
    • A minimum of 3 years cumulative working experience as a Sales Manager or Team Leader in a Distribution role
    • Experience in managing other functional areas such as customer service, premium admin and general administration
    • Must have strong Leadership qualities and have the ability to lead and engage people to achieve results
    • Excellent Communication Skills ( oral and written)
    • Good Report Writing Skills
    • Strong computer knowledge ( Microsoft Office)
    • Must have demonstrated good/ethical behavior over the years
