    Procurement Specialist

    Scope Of Role

    • Purchase materials and equipment for the GIZ NIED Cluster projects/programmes in accordance with GIZ rules, prepares contracts under the project threshold, advises the projects on the new developments on the local market, informs projects and programmes on time about the status of procurement and customs matters, particularly in the event of delays, coordinates effectively with colleagues in the administrative division of CO and with procurement officers at head office.

    Tasks

    • Procures materials & equipment locally, monitor markets, issues invitations to tender & processes orders in accordance with GIZ PuR
    • Accepts goods, inspects delivery and ensures that the receipt is documented and goods received checked appropriately
    • Contacts suppliers of defective goods delivered and arranges necessary follow-ups
    • Checks goods invoices, goods inwards receipts and other (delivery) papers and payment instruction
    • Arranges for the safe transfer of goods to their destination (arranges and coordinates the safe transportation of deliveries to therequesting projects sites and offices outside Accra and ensures written confirmation of delivery by the project
    • Processes cases of damage in transport
    • Documents and files every order properly according to PuR, also in contract monitoring tools
    • Controls the hand-over processes/filing of assets to partners or project employees
    • Monitors and controls the event procurement processes in the project and at CO level
    • Ensures proper allocation of programme equipment and regular maintenance

    Qualification Required & Experience

    • BA in business administration, recognised commercial diploma in business administration or similar
    • At least 3 years’ professional experience in a comparable position
    • Excellent knowledge of procurement procedures
    • Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
    • Very good knowledge of the English language, a knowledge of German is an added advantage
    • Finely tuned organisational skills and ability to work on one’s own initiative
    • Ability to work under pressure with less or no supervision
    • Very good communication and negotiation skills
    • Willingness to update skills as required by the tasks to be performed

    Junior Gender and HR Specialist

    Scope Of The Role

    • Ensure the good execution of all gender-related measures on Country Level, by working together with the Gender Focal Point (GPF) on Country Level, especially in coordination with the GFP group of GIZ Ghana, support the planning and executing of activities and campaigns, creating gender awareness within the company and communicating on gender topics in close consultation with Country Director.
    • Support GIZ Ghana in conceptualizing more concrete contributions to promoting the implementation of gender equality and gender equity, by following GIZ Gender Strategy and other relevant internal guidelines
    • Cooperating with GIZ’s Gender Network, managing the exchange of information on gender beyond GIZ Ghana, e.g., participate in exchanges, share good practices from country level.
    • Support the management team of GIZ Ghana in identifying the main gender-related bottlenecks and needs and in defining priorities for addressing these bottlenecks and needs.
    • Support in the strategic orientation of the gender policy in Ghana
    • Assisting HR Specialists with contract management, onboarding preparations (identifies existing GIZ HR resources in the country and/or region, writes job advertisements and ensures publication in appropriate print and/or online media) per GIZ standards in the HR department.
    • Support to the elaboration of relevant policies and SOPs

    Qualification Required & Experience

    • First degree in Gender studies, social science, HR, or related field.

    Professional Experience

    • Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts of gender equality and equity and gender mainstreaming
    • A minimum of 3 years practical experience in the implementation of gender mainstreaming approaches in programmes and/or at institutional level.
    • Experience with the design and implementation of gender sensitive measures
    • Desirable result-based monitoring systems.
    • Strong analytical and advisory skills
    • Ability to express oneself well both verbally and in writing; polished, target-group oriented style.
    • Ability to take initiative and work in a multi-cultural environment.
    • Strong communication skills, ability to give and receive constructive feedback
    • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team.

    Technical Advisor (Senior National Coordinator)

    Scope Of Role

    • The Technical Advisor is responsible for managing and promoting programme and team agreements.
    • The Technical Advisor for Business Ideas for Development (BID) and Diaspora Experts (DE) will work in the PMD diaspora cooperation component at the operational level to support all activities in the field of action BID and DE in partner country, Ghana.
    • She/He will work in close consultation with the coordinator, the project manager and other staff members of the Programme Migration and Diaspora at GIZ Head Office

    Tasks

    • Coordinates all programme activities in the context of Business Ideas for Development (BID) in the partner country, Ghana in close consultation with the Senior National Coordinator (SNC), the project manager and other staff members of the Programme Migration & Diaspora.
    • Supports in the acquisition of applicants for participation in the annual call for proposals for BID and/or MEETAfrica.
    • Supports at BID and/or MEETAfrica events in Europe and other places through provision of information on the local economic situation and opportunities for entrepreneurs from the diaspora.
    • Supports, in coordination with other stakeholders, the evaluation and selection of business ideas of Ghanaian candidates and participates as jury member at the "pitch event", as well as an advisor at "kick-off and "midterm events; and relevant follow-ups".
    • Identifies resource persons, especially successful founders, for best practice contributions and visibility enhancement.
    • Builds a network to relevant stakeholders and entrepreneurs.
    • Advises, accompanies and builds networks amongst BID founders as a facilitator in the process of business start-up and in the postfounding phase.
    • Carries out marketing activities in the partner country in the context of BID as well as Diaspora Experts (DE) in consultation with the SNC and officers responsible for marketing and public relations activities for the PMD in Ghana and at GIZ Head Office.
    • Handles other tasks on behalf of GIZ.

    Qualification Required & Experience

    • Master’s degree in an area that is related to the project/programme objectives, with a focus on a relevant field. Qualification in the area of Business Management/Administration, Project management will be an advantage.
    • Professional experience in planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
    • Very good working knowledge of ICT technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
    • Ability to work under pressure to meet pressing deadlines and should be able to adapt and manage change.
    • Diligent, goal oriented, open minded and innovative, team player and ability to perform task without supervision.
    • Proficient in spoken and written English; a working knowledge of German is an asset.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, work experience in an intercultural environment is an asset.
    • Strong managerial, organisational, social competence skills and ability to easily adapt and manage change
    • Very strong communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders and facilitate networking.
    • Willingness to upskill as required by the tasks to be performed – corresponding measures are agreed with management
