• Managing the GGBL Quality Management System and the Food Safety Management system. To frequently audit processes, product specifications, systems and procedures laid down by GGBL to ensure that quality requirements are met in the Brewing, Packaging and Utilities departments and Product under storage in the Full Beer Store.
• Working with Site Management and production departments to continuously implement and improve Food Safety and Quality procedures and standards.
• To comply with the relevant Diageo Global Risk Management Standards, Brand Technical Manuals and Heineken Basic Recipes and Process Standards

• The quality manager is responsible for the Laboratory budget.
• The quality manager leads the investigations of consumer and trade complaints and returns.

• Enforce all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality Management System related to your department is followed and maintained.
• Manage the Quality Management System and the Food Safety Management system.
• Manage the Quality department and the laboratory.
• Be part and play an active role in the site management team concerning quality and food safety issues.
• Retain good relationships with the legislative bodies and key stakeholders concerning quality and food safety.
• Support production departments in the development, implementation and training of Quality and HACCP procedures, forms and reports.

Qualifications and Experience Required ​

• Excellent knowledge of Diageo, IBS and risk management processes and policies
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good auditing skills
• Change management skills
• Computer literate
• Influencing / Relationship Building skills
• Minimum of BSc grade or equal experience in chemistry, process technology, biochemistry, food technology or any related study.
• Knowledge of the Beer industry or experience in Quality management in other Food / Beverage industries.
• Able to lead or work effectively in cross-functional teams

• The Shift Brewing Manger leads the Brewing Shift team to deliver the AOP within budget.
• Works with approved establishment.

Top Accountabilities:

• The Shift Brewing Manger is in charge of the brewing core KPIs, with full responsibility for the efficient and effective performance of the brewing shift operations and the brewing shift team.
• The Brewing Shift Manager is responsible for meeting the OEE, Extract loss, IPQI and Technical Flavour Score targets for the brewing operations in a cost effective manner.
• The incumbent is also responsible for the entrenchment of Perfect Plant Management System (PPMS) and Perfect Plant Controls and Reporting Systems (PPCRS) in a safe and healthy working environment.
• As the front line manager, the shift brewing manager must be conversant with Human resource policies, particularly in the area of disciplinary and grievance procedures, in resolving people issues in the teams to create and maintain a highly motivated team.

• Deliver AOP through proper production planning in consultation with the Brewing Manager
• Own and drive the Excellence in Supply Chain (EISC) agenda in Brewing and ensure 100% compliance to PPCRS tool such SICs, Walkabouts and leading Shift Based Team (SBT) and Daily/Weekly Brewing Tier 2 Meetings.
• Report daily process parameters to improve process control for delivery of >95% IPQI and 100% adherence to Codex standards, taking and driving actions to address variability in production process.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• BSc Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science/Technology, Process Engineering or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years in food and beverage industry.
